A big increase in reports of Asian tiger shrimp along the U.S. Southeast coast and in the Gulf of Mexico has federal biologists worried the species is encroaching on native species' territory.
The shrimp are known to eat their smaller cousins, and sightings of the massive crustaceans have gone up tenfold in the last year, biologists say.

Shrimp sandwich...maybe with shrimp salad
a Shrimp Sandwich is a Shrimp Po-Boy
Shrimp are great...if you live within a few hours from the Gulf where you can get them fresh all the time then you are blessed
here in Nashville...the best we have is a Bayou La Batre outfit that brings their product up daily but alas it’s frozen...decent though...in Franklin at the old oven Factory
fresh shrimp where you taste the Gulf are just better
if I could only pick one it would likely be perfectly light breaded fried shrimp like from Crechales...more flour/less cornmeal...not eggy and stiff...flaky baby..like Romney
and i eat the tails if fried or pressure cooked
whole shrimp pressure cooked are the bomb too....Jamaica does that with prawns
Anyway, like I was sayin’, shrimp is the fruit of the sea...
More like cockroaches of the sea. But tasty cockroaches.
Pistol shrimp are cool they shoot their little shrimp friends with a blast of water at a speed of 100km/h with temp 9900C

I can eat shrimp but it would have been the grits that sent me to the hospital! Corn in some form, is in most of the products on the market today. Thank goodness for food labels but I really get tired of having to read them before I buy something.
I know of what you speak...shelfish allergies can make you very sick. A friend of mine had lobster and fealt terrible for two days.
“...tiger shrimp are considered to be the carp of the shrimp”
SEZ WHO??
The Tiger shrimp I’ve eaten are the best tasting of any of ‘em! (Their price in the supermarket confirms that many others think so also!)
Looks like one of these would send you to the morgue.

This is a solution looking for a problem...
Still waiting for the invation of the Asian Tiger Lobsters!
And a Portuguese Water Dog Sandwich is a Bo-Boy...
I use Tony’s on everything...potatoes, eggs, casseroles...etc....its fantastic.....
Shrimp, lobster, crab...
all of them are the “cockroaches of the sea”
and delicious.
About 20 years back, we were fishing early one morning out in the Gulf off Freeport, when some shrimp boats anchored near us for the day. They offered us some monstrous pink shrimp where the TAILS were 10” long and about 3” in diameter!!
Well, it was a shrimp salad sandwich, sir."
That is really interesting, thx for sharing.
So....now that my stomach is growling...how did you cook those monsters?
