I am not pissed at all. I voted Rorher at the last minute, but was going for Smith as late as this morning. A FReeper talked me out of it.

I do think Casey is going for the Gov seat because unlike all the other incumbent Govs in PA, Corbett is a weak loser. He is getting nothing done, promises are going unfulfilled and he is a general nub with no public appeal. If Casey wins reelect, he will be unstoppable with his fresh victory. If he loses, he has nothing to lose anyway. Why not go after a weak incumbent Gov. Forcing the grandees in the GOP to back a loser for Senate isn’t going to help Corbett fend off Casey. It weakened him tonight. You and I might forget about it, but Harrisburg pols who went out on a limb for Welch will not.

Well the streak is due to be broken. It’s actually more a each party wins 2 in row thing. If only Schweiker had run in 2002 against that swine Rendell. He would have kept the incumbent streak but broken the 2 in row thing.

If Casey loses to this Smith guy though that means Casey is weak himself. If Corbett is as lousy as all that a primary challenge or browbeating him into not running would be prudent. Florida is dealing with the same thing, the new GOP Governor is as popular as mud.

I would’ve gone for Rorher too. I just can’t trust this guy Smith that was a democrat just last year, there are too many self-proclaimed tea party favorites. His money though may be the only thing to give the GOP a chance against Casey.
