MetroWeekly.com is exposing the whole truth that Washington Post would not reveal:
Mitt Romney’s campaign tonight announced that it has hired Richard Grenell, an out gay former George W. Bush administration official, to serve as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s “national security and foreign policy spokesman,” according to a report from The Washington Post that did not mention Grenell’s sexual orientation.
Grenell served through September 2008 in the Bush administration as a spokesman to the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations — and told The Advocate‘s Kerry Eleveld as he left the administration that it was his hope that New York would have marriage equality soon and that he would one day be able to marry his partner, Matt Lashey. The couple has been together 10 years. . . .
Andrew Sullivan, who had endorsed Obama’s 2008 run, wrote of the news, “For Romney to have an openly gay spokesman is a real outreach to gay Republicans, a subtle signal to moderates, and the Santorum faction’s reaction will be worth noting.”
Grenell is not just gay, but a gay activist who pushes for same-sex marriages.
At the end of Grenell’s service in the Bush administration, he took a notable whack at the administration, telling The Advocate‘s Kerry Eleveld of his effort to have his partner, Matt Lashey, listed in the United Nations’ Blue Book, which is “a reference guide of contact information for different member states of the United Nations as well as diplomatic personnel and their spouses.”
Grenell had attempted to have Lashey’s name added several times, to no avail. He told The Advocate back in 2008, “What put me over the edge was a friend and colleague who met her spouse after I was already with my partner — they got married and subsequently were put into the Blue Book in a matter of days.”
The State Department eventually told him that the Defense of Marriage Act prevented the listing. Although he protested the decision behind the scenes, Lashey’s name was not ever added, which led to his coming forward to criticize the treatement publicly as he left his post.
HuffPost has noted that since the choice, Grenell has scrubbed his Twitter account and website of offensive material...

Yes, we are to judge others, just not hypocritically.
Hmmmm...at this point what does it really matter what I think? The mob ruled.
But as if you actually cared what I think, of course I agree with what you say. I still dont think its an excuse to let Obama win another term. I will fight each battle at the right time and the right place. This battle should be fought between now and the convention, and then not again until after November. My gut tells me we have already lost the battle before the convention, thats all.
How do they know unless the person says they are gay? Do you think churches ask that question before you can sit down?
Further it’s a stupid comparison as typical church members are not hired workers.
A non-vote means you do not approve of either candidate. If necessary I will write-in who I want.
He is not my choice but to vote for the black guy or no one (same thing) is to lead us into a socialist government. we may end up there anyway but not because of Mitt (AFAICT).
Do you know how many years it has taken 0 and his socialist buddies to get us to this point? Try since Roosevelt 1 in the 30s.
On our way to a better tomorrow.
Exactly. God’s word is so clear when it is not cherry-picked and taken out of context to further a false premise.
If what you believe and advocate is something that takes this country down, or helps to, then your service means nothing to me.
And I am in the camp that believes that is a vote “thrown away”. More so, I believe that its a cowards way out to chose an unattainable solution, avoiding the two possible realities and then bitching and whining at the outcome regardless. No third party will win this election. So the choices are limited and simple. Obama or the GOP candidate. I sincerely wish all the best of luck in a brokered convention, but do I believe it will happen? I dont think so. Great if it does, but if its Mitt, so be it. Better than the magic (noun edited for pc police).
We have a long way to go to reclaim the electoral process from the party elite. But that discussion can be for another day.
You read something into that verse that is not there.
They are not to associate with unrepentant sinners. There is no implication in the verse they can’t ever change. But until they say they have changed and come back to the church and satisfy the minister they are genuinely repentant, it is for the safety and integrity of the church not to have them in the church body because they will not be doing anything good there.
Again you take scripture out of context. There is no sin in judging righteous judgment. There IS sin in judging others hypocritically. Jesus caution is to judge, but judge righteously. Not ‘do not ever judge anyone else ever’.
You know nothing about me, my service, or daily sacrifices for this nation.
The total lack of civility on this topic shows me my service means nothing to you. Might as well call me a baby killer.
Don’t complaint others are correcting your distorted use of scripture and trying to point out your error. If you don’t want to be corrected, don’t preach yourself - you brought it on yourself.
No study ever has shown it to be, any way they try to look at it.
Well, when you are relieved, I will be relieved, too.
Again, if you are for promoting beliefs and positions that work to damage or destroy this country, your service means nothing. Notice it is a conditional statement.
Dont kid yourself, you enjoy coming back and sticking the needle in and twisting it as much as some others have here. Good Christians behavior.
Well spoken.
As in the day of Lot, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man.
I have a great cloud of witnesses that are, and will be watching my family, NOT vote for this agenda...EVER.
Ummm....have you read your own posts?!? Mr. Twister?
I’m hardly going to take biblical advice from a guy who bases his viewpoints on exclusively taking scripture put of context.
“A non-vote means you do not approve of either candidate. If necessary I will write-in who I want.”
This time yesterday...I was with Magnum.
But this is the last straw for me. Now I’m with Secret Agent Man.
This has gone beyond tolerance....adoption agencies are closing. They will sue churches and demand they perform ceremonies. They are working on their curriculum for our children.
I am a christian first.
I will teach my children the true definition of marriage and family.
If Mitt want’s to play footsie with this group, then so be it.
