Iran: Obama Should Avoid Carter's Outcome (Worst, Most Ignominious Insult Imaginable)

With Iran claiming victory over the West in the 5+1 nuclear negotiations last week in Istanbul, officials of the Islamic regime are again increasing the war rhetoric, vowing that they will not step back from their nuclear program.

And in any military confrontation, Iran's response will be more devastating than imagined, it warned.

At the same time, Iran is calling for the removal of sanctions, calling this the only viable option left for President Obama to save himself.

"The only path left for Obama to avoid a big loss to the Republicans in the upcoming election is to compromise with Iran and immediately remove all sanctions to allow big American oil companies to participate in the Iranian oil and gas projects," said a recent analysis on the Iranian outlet Fadaeian Islam (Devotees of Islam).

"Obama is on a steep decline where his fall is imminent, and even if there is no confrontation with Iran, the oil prices will soon go up by more than $30 (a barrel), which will surely seal the loss of the Democrats in the upcoming elections," the analysis added. "The result of the sanctions on Iran will be less investment in the production of oil in Iran and an automatic rise in prices with a terrible outcome for America, increasing its unemployment."

The trouble with the headline is, Carter is Zero's Hero.

I thought sending Obama the pink toy replica of that drone a few months ago was cheekier..

Seriously, why shouldn’t they “punch above their weight”?? - Over 30 yrs of huff & puff (aka political rhetoric), negotiations, & useless sanctions would naturally embolden an already frisky lot. Simply put, they do because they Can!

So, as they say.. errr... sing: “little less conversation, little more action... by the West” would see satisfaction in a lotta anti-mullah & anti-regime people, in Iran too.

I grant you that and concur with your assessment regarding the NoKos. Nevertheless,

The Iranians are an entity unto themselves. Why?
1. We survived a much more powerful, much better equipped enemy, the Soviet Union, with a powerful military, nuclear arsenal exponentially greater than Iran could ever dream of. We outlasted The USSR due to the principles of MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction). Both the US and USSR despite opposing philosophies had a desire to live out our lives in peace, existence in the here and now with emphatic priority over some future spiritual after-life we may may, not someday be part of. To the Soviets, it was even easier, being atheists this was the only place for them.

The brilliance of MAD in keeping the peace rested on the fact that we wanted to live out a normal life existence, where both adversaries, the US and the USSR cherished life to the effect that made MAD work as well as it did, either side knowing trying to kill the other would be certain retribution, death and so we co-existed, in the shadow of the nuclear bomb as a result to remain alive until the natural end.

2. The Iranians on the other hand do not operate under the dynamic that death means their end. To the contrary, as Muslim Sh'ites, they believe in an after-life more fantastic than anything imaginable and in their own words have reiterated how we fear death while they embrace it.

Their prophecy is about the arrival of the final Imam, the 12th Imam, purportedly hastening his returning to Earth to reign over its dominion, once his Sh'ite followers facilitate an act of Jihad of global catastrophic proportions, the act, participation of which guarantee them eternal reward.

They do not fear death, they welcome it, destroying Israel, the decadent West by nuclear or conventional weapons, at the cost of their own death is no hindrance at all for them in building up a military machine, conventional, nuclear, in the attainment of their goal. and have absolutely no compunction whatsoever to killing the entire planet and its 7 Billion inhabitants in the facilitation of their objectives if that's what it takes.

Not entirely correct, or at least not in correct context. And, I preface it by saying that I do not support Obama.

When the Iranian (Regime), soon after Iraqi invasion in 2003, thought George W. Bush administration was serious about “Axis of Evil” (which included Iranian Regime), they (the Iranian Regime) flooded the GWB Admin with “Islamic Reformists”, many holding US passports (citizenship).

IOW, they (the Iranian Regime) was running for cover & was DEADLY afraid.

GWB Admin caved in & succumbed to the Islamic Reformists lobby around 2005/2006 (lobby incl. people like Trita Parsi, who since Obama admin have become quiet as mice, and in the media as well).

GWB Admin, was on the right track in its 1st term, but lost its chance of overpowering the Mullahs’ REGIME in Iran in its 2nd term. It is that simple.

True about he Messianic vision in Shia Islam, BUT not uniqe to Shia Islam at all. The Sunnis hold similar views, as do the Baha’is. In fact, the Ba’hai Faith is extremely Messianic.

Most moslems in Iran believe in the Messiah to come (aka Mehdi, 12th Imam). But, that is no different to Resurrection concept & Judgement Day in Christianity.

I personally have no reservation to kill off the Iranian Regime. But, I would caution any one equating the Iranian Regime with the Iranian People, past, present or in the future. Just as I would not, generically, equate the American gov’t with the American people. More so in Iran’s case, because in the US at least one has more (impartial) options.

If the Iranian Regime, currently in charge in Iran, wanted to have the 12th Imam arrive ASAP, and had “absolutely no compunction whatsoever to killing the entire planet and its 7 Billion inhabitants in the facilitation of their objectives if that’s what it takes.” - as you say - it would not be running scared as it has done, and still does, only to show Bravado.

Final point: Seriously take action against the REGIME in IRAN, preferably this year, and you will have your answer, without further speculation.

Most of the Regime Ayatollahs will be off to South America, South East Asia, and so on... while their goons will be, hopefully, killed to move on to find their place along side their father Khomeini.

I have to admit, their “death wish” pseudo-religion DOES make ‘em a tad scarier than the NoKos, if not more clever with their resources. In that, they certainly are in their own league.
