In a press conference on Friday, White House press secretary Jay Carney responded to the recent new Keystone pipeline bill passed by Congress earlier this week, as theWashington Examiner reports:
"It would be preemptively sacrificing American sovereignty" to approve the pipeline, White Hosue [sic] Press Secretary Jay Carney said, because a route for the northern portion of the pipeline has not been established.
"The United States Congress -- a very important body, takes American security and sovereignty very seriously, or should -- is saying that we will, in advance -- blind -- approve a proposal for a pipeline, a proposal for which does not exist," he also said.
The Keystone XL pipeline has undergone 3 years of review, but the State Department refused to grant a permit after pressure from environmentalists demanding the route through Nebraska be changed.
The bill passed through Congress earlier this week with a veto proof majority that included 69 Democrats voting for the newest measure. The latest route running through Nebraska has already been approved by the state legislature and signed by the governor in that state.
Beyond the fact that President Obama is at odds with many House members in his own party, Carneys charge is ludicrous. The northern portion has not been established because the State Department is requiring a completely new review process for the proposed new route. Additionally, aligning with an ally like Canada would not sacrifice American sovereignty as Carney claims.

First I’ve heard of this.
Birds of a feather, and all that.
Dont they ever realize that such condescending know-it-all leftist wiseass behavior pisses off every American who isnt a leftie?
If they bother to notice at all, they surely don't care. Anybody who is not a lefty is beneath their concern, except as a source of revenue. To them, we are livestock.
As for Carney, I've followed his "magical" career for years. He, too, has been carefully groomed for his current position as Obama's Goebbels, from his years at "Time" (especially in Russia) to apprenticing as Joe Biden's flack. While both he and his boss are being manipulated from behind the scenes, both are willing and knowing parts of the socialist conspiracy.
Obama administration didn’t seem to have a problem with the Chinese investing billions in Texas oilfields, not sure why they would care about a pipeline crossing into Canada....
Maybe he thinks they’d be pumping mexican’s through the pipe.
“White Hosue” press secretary”....They spelled “Hose You” incorrectly.
>> both are willing and knowing parts of the socialist conspiracy.<<
I to agree with your disagreement and agreement in your conclusion, with which I agree 100%. Even a guppy would know what is going on, even if it was too stupid to see the bigger picture.
They are dupes, but willing and participatory dupes.
And we all need to continue to pray that God watch over us and minimize the damage barry and his handlers and minions are wreaking upon our Republic.
They don't, but the Alinsky-ites are trained to co-opt conservative rhetoric and use it against them.
Remember when they took "family values" from us?
And, just last week Obama started in with the phrase "judicial activism" to bash the Supreme Court.
Now today Carney is using "American sovereignty" to achieve an anti-American goal.
Look for this tactic to go into overdrive as election season continues.
Is this ENTIRE administration on drugs?
He is the idiot, not us. I am becoming more and more convinced that, after awhile, these idiots start believing their own lies.
Is Carney insane or did he just fall down?
Maybe it has to be approved so that we can find out where it goes...sorta like ObamaCare. Where was Carney’s concern for American sovreignty then?
*thumbs up graphic* LOL!
LOL! I will give it to you still!!!!
Hillary.
As Mitt escorts the whole kitt and caboodle out the door on his first day in office; he may just find time to escort this feller onto a side trip: destination: ..... behind the woodshed...
