For computer users, a few mouse clicks could mean the difference between staying online and losing Internet connections this summer.
Unknown to most of them, their problem began when international hackers ran an online advertising scam to take control of infected computers around the world. In a highly unusual response, the FBI set up a safety net months ago using government computers to prevent Internet disruptions for those infected users. But that system is to be shut down.
The FBI is encouraging users to visit a website run by its security partner, http://www.dcwg.org , that will inform them whether they're infected and explain how to fix the problem. After July 9, infected users won't be able to connect to the Internet.

Apparently they did manage to do it on millions of computers worldwide.

A couple of months ago I realized that my searches were being guided by some sort of malware. I kept ending up at sites when I was actually looking for some things that I was familiar with.
No matter what the Google or Bing would not find what I wanted.
Back on desk top, I hit programs; accessories; system tools, Internet explorer (no add ons) and then my searches began to work properly.
Perhaps this elementary and everyone else knows this stuff. I did not. I do now. Mostly using IPAD for searching these days. I.E. is seriously not supported by MS as near as I can discern.
I went on the FBI site and searched for this story or press release--nothing.
So much for the news outlets checking their sources. Very bizarre.

FWIW.
Or this post itself is a major fraud.
Has anyone actually tried to go to that site? I smell a rat.
My NeoTrace pops out:
But what do I know; I'm just a janitor near Philly. :^)
Now let's wait for Dec. 12, 2012.
I’m hoping that one is real.
Humanity has become too vile and stupid to live any longer.
