Its over...Romney is going to be the nominee. Conservatives who refuse to vote for him in November out of spite might as well vote for Obama. The end result is the same. As much as Im not a fan of Mitt, Ill take him in a heartbeat over our Marxist in Chief.
Sure, many are angry hes going to be the nominee, but I view it as more of a failing of the other candidates. They had their chance and failed; plain and simple. They have no one to blame but themselves. For whatever reason they didn’t connect with the base, too many skeletons, inept campaigns. Perhaps we will get a better lot of potentials next time around.
Bitching only gets us so far, before common sense - pragmatism - needs to take over. I can choose to be 10 years old or I can work to defeat the most radical President in U.S. history. It’s not rocket science.
It’s not over, as much as you would like it to be. Just about the only way Obama can win again is if we run Romney, and I think a lot of people realize that.
One of the chief factors in a candidate’s success is his likeability, and believe it or not, Obama scores high in that area, even in very recent surveys. I find him completely wierd and unlikeable, but apparently I’m the exception.
Romney, however, gets a very low likeability score. People seem to find him artificial, untrustworthy and arrogant, all of which is true. This means, particularly since his positions are virtually the same as Obama’s, that people won’t be voting for him, especially people in that sought after “undecided middle” group who vote impusively and on the basis of emotion.
