In a move that serves as a significant blow to "ex-gay" programs and anti-gay organizations, Dr. Robert Spitzer repudiated his much-criticized 2001 study that claimed some "highly motivated" homosexuals could go from gay to straight. His retraction occurred in an American Prospect magazine article that hit newsstands today. Spitzer's rejection of his own research, which was originally published in the prestigious Archives of Sexual Behavior, is a devastating blow to "ex-gay" organizations because it decisively eliminates their most potent claim that homosexuality can be reversed through therapy and prayer.

If you"re talking about behavior, I believe you. Under that standard there are countless former heterosexuals too... Actually no -maybe you have bought into some of the propaganda? Heterosexual is an objective scientific term referring to how a species procreates e.g. two sexes.
REGARDLESS, with some exceptions (e.g. genetic defects) if one has sex or not; regardless, any orifice diversity they may choose to engage in, they are always a heterosexual (male or female).
HOMOSEXUAL as a feeling (orientation) is a self identified subjective term created in reference to an objective activity.

There is a difference between discrimination and accepting the behavior. Many people have strange fetishes, does that mean that schools should teach about those who are turned on by feet, or pain, or body odor?
One can also argue that pedophillia is genetic or a choice, yet we do not tollerate that. Some people even want to marry inanimate objects, some want to marry animals and anything else you can imagine.
To pretend sexual disorders are normal and not infact on par with disorders like bipolar, and major depression does a major diservice to society.

Dr Spitzer feared for his safety after proclaiming gays could change. In fact he feared for his safety so much he quit speaking about it. That's on the record, somewhere here on FR.
Science still doesn't support the born that way theory. So with science against Spitzer and his personal safety an issue, I wonder where the truth lies with this article.
