Whenever I read the obituary of someone like Clark, who had a rich, rewarding, and a decent life, and lived to a ripe old age, instead of extending condolences to the family, I often feel it would be better if we could somehow thank them for a life well lived..

Knew he was up there in years, but didn’t know how many. He had a good beat, was easy to dance to — I’ll give him an 83...

Anyone remember the PAYOLA scandle Dick Clark was involved in back in the late 1950s?

Some wag wanted to coin a new word...”CLARKOLA”. It didn’t go over.

If you grew-up with American Bandstand, “we” are old!

Yep. It is now official. RIP, Dick Clark.

I went on a date with my first girlfriend to the Dick Clark Show (My mother had to drive us! "Beechnut Spearmint: 'Wrapped in green, Made for a teen.'") and I still have an audio tape somewhere of a different DCS. Year later, I worked with a guy who said he would regularly go over to wherever they did the original American Bandstand and be part of the action there.
