The state's top analyst has urged lawmakers to pull the emergency brake on California's $68 billion bullet train, saying the recently revised plan carries way too much risk of failure.
The Legislative Analyst's Office report released late Tuesday may give the Legislature political cover if it decides to ax the polarizing rail line as it begins debating whether to approve high-speed rail Wednesday.

The Unions want two things in CA above all other things in the universe: Maintain the status quo for all public employees AND start building the bullet train to nowhere. They don't care if it ever gets ridden by a single passenger or whether it ever gets completely built.
They only care about the 2-3 years of funding in the near term.
Remember people: Public Employee Unions are your MORTAL ENEMY. Ever member, your mortal enemy.
Never forget this fact.

Every dollar spent on this boondoggle goes straight into the pockets of union members, which is the entire point.

The Unions want two things in CA above all other things in the universe: Maintain the status quo for all public employees AND start building the bullet train to nowhere. It's more than just jobs. CALPERS owns a major stake in Catellus Development, along with Richard Blum. You can bet your bottom dollar they've got a bundle tied up in the "pump and dump" stock schemes associated with this plan, not to mention planned investments in the Agenda 21 "Sustained Development" "communities" planned along the route.

When paying off cronies is your goal, front money to grease the skids already accomplishes a lot.
