Afghanistan and Iraq and the Middle East in general are not worth the sacrifices our military has made. The US is not in it to win it. I’m sorry but that is how I feel. IF those people want to fight and blow each other up until the end of time, so be it, but we should just let them. Protect our borders.

I heard the interview with his wife. Travis Mills is a true hero. Foxnews are updating his story now. The family website is being overrun.

Prayers for this man and his family.

Looking at him, I despise Obama so much that I barely know what to say. Obama has been virtually colluding with our enemies, licking the toes of the Taliban, and tossing away our best and most loyal people.

Thanks for this Kartographer. I have been following this young man, and today realized that we can follow him and his family via Twitter and Facebook.

I want to keep bumping this thread, as while he is back in the states, he has had several more surgeries and though he does not complain, currently they are having trouble relieving his pain enough for him to sleep : |

Please pray for this true hero and his family.

Dear God, please help to ease his pain, and give strength to his loving family. And Lord, I pray that he may be healed so that he can watch his daughter Chloe grow into a beautiful young woman, and grow old with his loving wife, Kelsey.

Oh Lord, give this young man strength to bear
his wounds.

Reading about men like this and then having to
listen to the tantrums of Occupy protesters,
makes me see red.

Here are a few more updates, from the bottom up - the 29th, the 30th and then today on top. Also included a link to a great video made by Travis’ cousin. It was made to promote a fundraising run, but it is a REALLY wonderfully, powerful video. Warning - Don’t watch without a tissue : \

Thank you Lord, for this amazing young man, his family and friends, and thank you for such awesome FreeRepublic prayer warriors.

From this morning - “PT is hoping to get Travis down in the gym today on the mat! @travismillsfund”

UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (4/30 @ 4:00PM CDT)

Travis has had a long day. Had had an MRI on one of his legs though. It was clean, though. Thank God! His epidural was just making his leg numb, so he was unable to have full range of motion. He also got a custom wheelchair made for him, and he was able to drive up and down the halls. He did a lot today, so he is tired and hurting, but he is doing well! Going back in two hours to watch Monday night TV with him!

UPDATE FROM TRAVIS MILLS (4/29 @ 9:00PM CDT)

Thank you for all the love and support. I am doing well. This is a slow, day-by-day process, but with my family and friends by my side I’ll keep moving forward.

Friday Prayer bump, with two updates from Kelsey.

Prayers lifting for strength Lord, for Travis and Kelsey as they make their way through this trial. Please guide Travis’ medical team as they search for ways to bring him some measure of relief from his pain. And Lord, thank You, for such good people like Travis and Kelsey, and all of those from near or far, who are moved to reach out to them.

Father, hear our humble prayer.
Tatt

UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/3 @ 8:15PM CDT)

Hanging out with Travis. He’s very sleepy. He has been all day since they upped his ketamine (an anesthetic drug) because the pain was so intolerable. They have two more trials, and we will decide which route to take this wekeend. Monday morning the next trial will begin. Travis’s brother, Zach, and his wife, Kassandra, are leaving in the morning. They said goodbye to Travis tonight while he woke up to take some meds. We will see them again soon though!

UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/3 @ 4:00PM CDT)

Here’s a picture of Chloe from earlier today, and one of Travis with Kyle Maynard yesterday!

UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/2 @ 8:45PM CDT)

Travis’s pain trial today was another failure. They have two more they will try later in the week. We were both very disheartened that the trial didn’t work. However, when we were feeling down we were picked back up by a very inspirational visitor, Kyle Maynard. (For those of you who don’t know about Kyle, you should visit kyle-maynard.com.) Kyle has done so much and proven to so many that anything is possible. Seeing him and hearing his stories was so critical for Travis, and has really aided in his mental recovery. He was able to see first hand that this not slow him down or stop him from reaching his goals!

Latest update from Kelsey, from Yesterday - Prayers are needed, for the healing of Travis’ nervous system, and for strength for Kelsey, in the face of so much worry. It is going to be a long five days for this young wife, and I am praying for her to take care, and to be strong enough to place it all in our Lord’s Hands.

Dear Lord, hear our prayers.
Tatt

“We are currently back in the MICU. The next step that the doctors are taking is a “ketamine coma”, where Travis will essentially be in a medically induced coma for the next five days. The doctors hope that while asleep his nervous system and brain will reset in a way and he will wake up with dramatically less pain. This trial has an 80% success rate, and the pain team has run out of options, so this has to work. I believe it will work. For the next five days, I will be holding my breath.”
