The trend is not only happening in Texas, but around the nation. The National Shooting Sports Foundation says 11 million firearms were sold in the U.S. in the last year. The FBI also conducted 16.5 million firearm background checks in 2011. That's nearly two million more than in 2010, and double the amount from 2001.
The big question is why? Store owners say gun sales typically increase during an election year, but this year there's more to it.

Theres still the .50 BMG, but Ive a hard time coming up with a reason for a thousand yard weapon when I live in the woods where sixty yards would be a long shot...Well, you can always use it for indirect fire or AA purposes...

Thanks for helping me spit Taquitos all over the keyboard.
The .380 is for recent local water moccasin purposes. Not for going door-to-door!

I bit the bullet and bought my first Glock last Friday. It’s a Model 17. It was a traumatic experience going to a plastic gun after having my 1911’s, Browning High Power and Sig P226 for so many years. I decided the high price hardware could stay locked up safe at home and I would carry the plastic as my CCW piece.

Glad to see another tar heel heavy into reloading. I have a pair of Dillon 550B's (for handguns), one dedicated for small primers, the other for large and a RCBS Rock Chucker (for rifles) on my bench. Believe it or not the Rock Chucker is rugged enough to reload for my 50 cal rifle. I cast my own bullets and the tire shops around here in Southport love it when I remove all their used tire weights. The only bullets I DON'T cast for are my high CPU rounds,,, ie: my 44mag, 454 Casull and rifles. Stay well bro.

A disorganized mob cannot carry out a corrndated attack. That being said it is my understanding that it is the propose of the militia to defend their homes and not fight like regular professional solderer.
To instead rely heavily upon home field advantage and ambush. If you want to be of uses perhaps becoming better famalure with the natural military features of your area might be proodent and fun too if your into hiking.

I think its a mistake to think the gun banners are done. Its a religion for them and they won’t give up.

If you have guns, the most important next purchase is ammo. I am advised that there will be a very large tax increase on ammo and reloading components coming our way soon. Right now I only have about 2000 or so rounds loaded up in a variety of different calibers. Remember when primers were hard to come by not oo long ago? Could happen with other components as well.

I like 380’s. Small enough pistol to easily conceal carry and with hollow points rounds packs quite a bit of stopping power.

I’m hoping to get a 20 gauge for my wife. I use 7.62, .38, and some others. I don’t like .45 because I have to use both hands and if TSHTF, my other hand will be carrying something.

The benefit of the .45 is that you only need one hit. :)

Missed a detail.
The TCP offers 6+1 shots of .380 ACP or **8+1 shots with an included extended magazine**, durable polymer frame and low-profile fixed sights.

Thanks for those pics. I think my BIL has the Taurus .380 that he carries in his back pocket or boot.
