Good Lord's Day and Shavua Tov to you!
When my ophthalmologist says, Be still, I am still. I dont argue. I dont become defiant. I dont stay busy behind his back. Why? Because he is a renowned eye surgeon who is trying to preserve my sight, and he needs my cooperation. I would be foolish to ignore his instructions.
So why am I not as cooperative in matters of spiritual stillness? God considers rest so important that He built it into the rhythm of life. Without rest we cant see clearly; we begin to see ourselves as more important than we are.
After Elijahs stressful confrontation with Ahab and Jezebel, he ran himself into a state of exhaustion. God sent an angel to care for him. During a time of stillness, the word of the Lord came to him (1 Kings 19:9). Elijah thought he alone was doing Gods work. He had been so zealous that he didnt know that 7,000 others hadnt bowed to Baal (v.18).
Some of us may fear what will happen if we sit still and stop working. But something worse happens when we refuse to rest. Without rest we cannot be spiritually or physically healthy. God heals while we rest.
Just as I needed stillness so that my eye could heal, we all need stillness so that God can keep our spiritual vision clear.

Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Good evening, HJ, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
He was 1.5 last Saturday, 1.8 today, so we will be back next Saturday as he is supposed to be between 2.0 and 3.0. Not to worry they said.
Thanks for the inquiry.
Are you going to get any of the ugly weather?
Shavua Tov.
Wishing all our Jewish troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
a peaceful and prosperous week.
Hope you all had a Blessed Passover.
Prayers for our troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
for a safe and peaceful week ahead.
He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
Iowa seems to be the current large hot spot. Prayers going out myself for many family under the gun from the small storms still making their way through central Kansas.
Watching NASCAR and reading one of Matt's books...
Good evening, Mayor, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to The Mayor family.
Hope you’ve had a nice weekend so far. We are supposed to get some rain tonight and tomorrow. Would be nice to help knock down the dust of “all over town” street sweeping.
Thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul. ((HUGS))
Good evening and a Blessed Lord’s Day and Shavua Tov to you, ML. ((HUGS))
How were your today lessons? You and Linda have big plans for tomorrow?
The only reason they would have it is because one of Eric Holder's people did it.
I have to work tomorrow..but hopefully it is just one time. Then they are supposed to switch to Saturdays.
