LOL!

If I’d pulled crap like this as a teen, I wouldn’t have the guts to go home ever again ‘cuz I know my dad would’ve been waiting for me with a switch.

When I first got my drivers license, he flat out told me that if I ever wound up in jail, not to bother calling him to bail me out.

He wasn’t kidding.

Lo and behold, I was straight as an arrow and annoyingly law abiding.

Go figger.

You & I weren't 'owed' for 'past injustices'.

Reminds me of stories I heard about the Chinese Cultural Revolution where Red Guard members could pretty much take anything they wanted by evoking Mao's name. That way the Great Helmsman could keep the merchant classes cowed & in line.

Sounds familliar! We bent the heck out of some of the rules, but nothing that would get us in jail (at the time).

My dad gave my brother and me the exact same talk and when my brother got arrested he didn’t call. My folks drove by my brothers truck parked on the side of the highway and figured he was in jail - sure enough he was. I just never bothered to get in trouble.

Well, things are different now, starting with the fact that you actually knew who and where your father was.
