I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the freeway sign-hacker(s) were indeed opportunistic race-baiting blacks.

IMHO I believe there is a 95% chance you are correct. The first thing that came into mind was some blacks did it.

Racial epithets on college room doors, vandalizing autos, etc... History has taught us the blacks will think of these things before actual white people and try to further their agenda by committing these types of acts and then screaming "RACISM!"
