That Basilica has a special resonance for me - my mother and father ran away to get married and that's the church in which they were married in January 1947. It was featured in a stamp edition some years ago as an example of early American architecture. It was the first seat of the diocese of Baltimore, the first Catholic Diocese in America - led by Bishop John Carroll, who founded Georgetown University.
