Hitler’s atrocities were all made possible by the Enabling Act of 1933, where the Reichstag allowed Hitler to make laws - even unconstitutional laws - without any input from the Reichstag. The Reichstag voluntarily gave up its check on Hitler.

I’m sure they all thought they were the “good guy”.

Some thought the Reichstag was too limited and partisan to facilitate economic recovery. Some swallowed Hitler’s promise to recognize the Vatican. Some had already been rounded up as the supposed perpetrators of the Reichstag fire. All were surrounded by SS troops milling about as the vote was taken.

America needs to learn from history, or we are doomed to repeat it.

We don't need an Enabling Act. There already are EO's, and the executive branch's alphabet soup of regulatory agencies [EPA, FDA, Dept of Energy, Dept of Education, etc]. Congress has been completely unwilling to use it's 'power of the purse' and defund them.

The problem that I see is 8 of 10 Americans are totally ignorant of history and the MSM will propagandize them into accepting tyranny in the slavish idolatry of Dear Leader and his cult of personality.

In Hitler's Germany, the press had to be dragooned at gun point into towing Goebbels' propaganda line for the Nazis. In America, the press falls all over themselves to be first at spewing Carney's latest pronunciation from Dear Leader's Oval Office.
