But, Newt is a “Big Government Conservative”, too! Where are the VIABLE “Small Government Conservative” candidates for ‘12 GOP POTUS? (RP is crazy, especially when it comes to his profound isolationism on all foreign policy issues.)
I don’t and did not support Santorum nor huckleberry, but both obviously are good men. The reason neither got further than disrupter position is neither have that ol “gravitas”, neither have a Presidential appearance.
I beleive Mitt and GOPe saturation bombing Newt put him in too negative a light, conservatives became desparate because they figured the saturation bombing would not stop and went into Plan B. Newt stood up to those incestant barrages better than anyone else. It almost has the feel of when Washington went to Valley Forge, our Army was in tatters, somehow (remarkedly by the sudden appearance of the smartest man in the room, Van Storben or whatever was his name) we came back from near death to prevail.
Re Newt, that is true to a point, but he is also a Reformer with a capital R, which is what scares the heck out of DC and the establishment, republicans and dems. Reforming and cutting waste, downsizing is a form of small government, and I am not sure he will get the free reign to do anything he wants due to Congress, whatever the make-up.
Please give another thought to working for and voting for him... We are 4 months out, a lot can happen in four months!
HAPPY EASTER! Have a Blessed and Wonderful Day.
But, this isn't a sane world, and certainly not a sane country (US) now. The next battlespace for us in the final conflict will be the media, urban cities, and illegal immigrant incursion causing a social and moral breakdown of the publicized citizenry - with biding acceptance from 'normal' America. Until they can bear it no more.
The insider the insiders can't control,
and they're scared to death...
"We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering. You ask, what is our policy? I will say: It is to wage war, by television, blog, and debate, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of American politics. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: It is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all lies, victory, however long and hard the road may be. " ~ Bobalu
Go Newt!!
In this season of a Miracle, when all hope was gone, if the following could somehow get written deep in the heart of hearts of every tired, discouraged, disillusioned Newt supporter, we could all get a second wind and soar again... I plant it in your heart for now. May it grow and may you be blessed. And may God bless Newt.
"Forget what happened before, and do not think about the past. Look at the new thing I am going to do. It is already happening. Don't you see it? I will make a road in the desert and rivers in the dry land. - Isaiah 43:18
I don’t know. I’m CRAVING debates right now ... of course, we had a lot of them, but issues are constantly in flux ..we as Americans have a VERY important decision to make ...and more debates can only clarify things.
Of course, though, NO ONE wants to debate Newt, or see their candidate up against him.
What does that tell you?
Well, I appreciate cbs posting that.
Could we. maybe, Freep this poll? Looks like the usual suspects have been there, but I went to another one where the Speaker was ahead at like 35%
http://www.americaschoice2012.org/
grrr Newtsnetwork site is all wonky today. Tried to go back to get a link for the second poll & can’t get to that part of the Public Square.
Well anyway. Have a Very Happy & Blessed Easter (& Passover) FRiends!
Thank you, as always, CW, for your posts!
Unfortunately for you, I don't think you know how much ignorance, misinformation, and purposeful distortion your remark demonstrates. Disagree with Newt on policy, or matters of substance - don't make things up or offer your teeny-little-brain version of what he says in a visionary sense and seeing down the road what no one else sees - he is noted for that; for example, when he walked into a congress dominated by democrats for 40 years, and said the republicans would take over congress.
No doubt, back then, you would have been one of the ones responding to Newt's outlandish vision with "simple plans, like taking over Congress when the dems have been in control for 40 years".
Let me guess, you support Santorum?
... and their teeny little brain..
http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpps/news/russia-us-moon-base-nasa-dpgonc-20110119-to-_17194074
Russia is talking with the US and Europe on plans to create a manned research base on the moon, the head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos said Thursday.
Roscosmos is discussing the possibilities for a permanent moon base with officials from NASA and the European Space Agency, the agency's chief, Vladimir Popovkin said. "We don't want man to just step on the moon," Popovkin told Vesti FM radio station, according to the Ria Novosti news agency. "Today, we know enough about it, we know that there is water in its polar areas ... we are now discussing how to begin [the moon's] exploration with NASA and the European Space Agency."
He said the plan was either to set up a base on the moon or launch a station to orbit around it. Russia also is planning to send two unmanned mission to the moon by 2020, Popovkin said.

Uh, Naps, he gets plenty of votes and you know that. I do salute your latest attempt to knock down Newt with just the right touch of compassion and worried concern... won't work, but nice try. :)
HAVE A BLESSED AND WONDERFUL EASTER!!
And as you say, Newt is an interesting conservative and futurist.
I am very sorry he won't be our candidate.
I am even sorrier Rick Perry won't be our candidate. I like them both very much. When Rick failed, I switched to Newt. Now that it's all over I feel free to say I would prefer Perry over Gingrich, if he could have survived the debate cycle, which obviously he couldn't (though the back surgery and meds had a lot to do with that, along with stupid back-stabbing "conservatives" who got their panties in a bunch over the long-dead Gardisil issue... though why get into all that now, right).
I also like Perry very much, and he is doing a lot of heavy lifting for Newt in Texas right now. I hope he stays the course. the way his supporters abandoned him after the media onslaught was just very sad. I think he could have gotten a second wind and might still be in it. The money people got nervous.
RE "I never quite thought of it like that but now that I have, thanks to you, I have to put myself in the same category. Minus the interesting. I am not interesting. But I am a conservative and futurist."
Personally, I think people with the self-awareness and humility, as well as thoughtfulness, to call themselves "not interesting" are very interesting and very rare.
HAVE A WONDERFUL AND BLESSED EASTER!
Dont laugh at his space ideas. Russians and Chinese rush to put weapons in space and the moon and we sit still (by design). The next war will be won or lost by those nuclear and electromagnetic-pulse guided weapons, guess what, from space.
So Newt knows what he is talking about.
YAY FOR YOU!!!
Mitt is going to be a disaster no matter what, there is no way conservatives are going to rally behind the doofus.
HAMMER ON, NEWT!
My name is Newt. I bring the pain.
I knew a lot of the folks in that crowd of 350, and they are all kinds of peoplefarmers, police, factory workers, housewives, professionals, officials, etc.they had no problem understanding Newt and responding to him.
The real problem lies in breaking through the template the media and the GOP have relentlessly promoted about Newtthe baggage if you willand I think a lot of our folks went for Santorum because he is somehow cleaner than Newt-but Newt is far and away the only one who would be fearless in taking on Obama.
It is up to conservatives in the states that have voted yet to change that direction. Only half the states have held their primaries.
The media wants Newt gone because he is the biggest threat to Obama.
You are absolutely correct about zeroing in on the real problem: "The real problem lies in breaking through the template the media and the GOP have relentlessly promoted about Newtthe baggage if you willand I think a lot of our folks went for Santorum because he is somehow cleaner than Newt..." What the "clean" crowd doesn't realize is that it doesn't matter how clean they are, by the time the media and dems and the DNC get through with our candidate - they are going to have x1 million the baggage Newt has. It won't matter 1 iota if it is real, fabricated or grossly exaggerated. And maybe the cleaner the candidate, the more outrageous they will make it... they have bought this idea and they are totally incorrect and in for a rude and painful awakening.
HAVE A WONDERFUL AND BLESSED EASTER!!
We can only hope...
.. and pray.
I know. Have a blessed Easter.
And if you had a brain, or some way to turn off your idiot spigot, you might be able to post commentary worthy of FR.
... and their teeny weeny brain.
I beleive Mitt and GOPe saturation bombing Newt put him in too negative a light, conservatives became desparate because they figured the saturation bombing would not stop and went into Plan B. I think yours is one of the best analysis and summaries I have read about where we are and how we got here. I really like your phrase very much: "disrupter position" - it is very concise and accurate.

Washington's troops in the link article (sorry Rich Lowrey, romney supporter, wrote it) are described as 'one step ahead of annihilation' - ring a bell? GO NEWT!!
Newt Gingrich is looking to make history...
Again.
In December 1776, the future of America hung on the fate of a bedraggled army barely a step ahead of annihilation. When the British fleet arrived in New York, an American soldier marveled it was as if all London was afloat.
After several devastating defeats, his troops exhausted, Washington decided to cross the Delaware on Christmas and surprise the British in Trenton. If the raid backfired, the war was likely over, and he would be captured and killed.
Washingtons troops crossed the river that night, in flat-bottomed boats, tossed by ice floes and raging winds. Once on land, they marched nine miles to Trenton in a driving snowstorm. Washington considered calling it off, but he'd come too far.
Arriving at Trenton, the spirited troops surprised the British, and the battle ended quickly, 1000 British killed or captured, to two American combat deaths.
Washington followed with another victory at Princeton, and several after that. In the space of a few weeks, American troops irreversibly changed the dynamic of the war.
In other words, a moment in history when a few ALL-IN men changed the world.
Newt Gingrich is looking for ALL-IN men and women to stand up to the power brokers and playmakers in Washington, DC.
Join us today.
Visionary, indeed.
You Newtcakes can’t get that your candidate isn’t even beating Paul in many polls. He’s only hanging on to try to cut a deal with Romney. It’s a betrayal worthy of such a “visionary”.
You compare the prurient Newt to the profoundly great George Washington?
My my......Newt doesn’t have to cross the Delaware in the middle of winter. He need only set his sights on the opponent immediately ahead of him. Ron Paul.
Hardly the stuff of greatness.
I am fervently hoping the same thing.
Romney will never, ever win anyway. And even if he did it would be a freaking disasters. But he won’t.
