Political Insiders in both parties have noticeably cooled on the vice presidential prospects of Marco Rubio.
Democratic and Republican strategists alike said Republican senator from Florida was the strongest GOP option for vice president in this week's National Journal Insiders Poll, but he carried only slim pluralities among both groups. That's a significant drop-off from the same survey taken in October, when 60 percent of Republicans and 65 percent of Democrats and considered him the party's best possible running mate.
Now, just 34 percent of GOP insiders and 28 percent of Democrats say Rubio is the party's best hope for the No. 2 spot on the presidential ticket.

Although I hold country-club republicans in the highest disdain, I kinda like Portman.
But, I'll go for Josh Mandell anyday.
Ive only seen Portman on Utube, and I must say that while he is well spoken, that when he goes informal, by taking his tie off, he looks a bit like a businessman who has been mugged.
“They all start losing support as soon as they speak up for Romney.”
Yes they do. For the duration.
“Enthusiam waned for Rubio after he confirmed everyones suspicion that he was little more than a RINO when the news came out he was working on another Amnesty bill.
So many RINOS, so many RINO supporters, so many people with their heads in the sand.”
I am not sure there really are that many. I think they just have louder speakers. Especially as the GOP capsizes to the left, they have begun to ape leftist tactics, the loudest bullhorns being one of them.
Portman is an establishment republican. He’s my former congressman, and he was once a fairly staunch conservative, but that ended when he was elevated to good-ole-boy status.
I will not support a Romeny/Anybody ticket, and I will work for their defeat.
Any pro-life conservative who supports Romney is a hypocrite.
I have a feeling that as time passes, Rubio will be losing more votes from the Right and gaining a whole lot from the Left....
Obama is pleased w you.
Tell me that you believe Romney is a pro-life, pro-natural marriage, pro-gun, pro-small government conservative.
I just want to see you write it.
I am ABO. Mittens stinks, but it is not about him. It’s about getting rid of the communist ghetto slum Marxist street punk Obama.
am sorry to say I do doubt the honesty of many men that are called good at home, that have given themselves up to serve a party. I am no man's man. I bark at no man's bid. I will never come and go, and fetch and carry, at the whistle of the great man in the white house, no matter who he is. And if this petty, un-patriotic scuffling for men, and forgetting principles, goes on, it will be the overthrow of this one happy nation, and the blood and toil of our ancestors will have been expended in vain. An Account of Col. Crockett's Tour to the North and Down East : In the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty-four (1835), p. 172
Spare me your bs.
ABO or you are for another 4 years of Obama.
Hardly.
One big government, pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-gun control social liberal is no different than another with a different letter beside his name.
It is sheer hypocrisy for a conservative to vote for Romney OR for Obama. Did you not see what he did in Massachusetts...$50 abortions, forced gay marriage, fees/taxes through the roof, Romneycare?
Principles, Glock. Principles.
Wow! Please site your source for this nonsense! Look I will argue policies but the conspiracy theories are a little much.
Rubio has some issues regarding his time in the legislature in Fl. He also has an ongoing fuss with Univision ( yes it matters in Hispanic community. Plus he may bring some from the Cuban community but for those who think that translates to Mexican or Puerto Rican community you would be mistaken.
Editor-Surveyor is right, and it isn’t a conspiracy theory. Fannie-Freddie was a scam designed to both enrich politicians and to play games one the edge with our financial system. Everyone knew that, and that included Bush’s own money guy, Paulson from Goldman-Sachs, a firm among Obama’s largest money supporters.

When it comes to getting rid of Obama, that went out the window a long time ago. I would vote for Charles Manson over Obama.
I would not vote for either Charles Manson or Obama.
Doesn’t matter who the VP pick is, if Romney is the nominee.
