The Department of Homeland Security has made news in the past few weeks with the revelations that they have purchased up to 650 million rounds of .40 caliber hollow point ammunition.
Now, despite ignoring requests as to why they need that much ammo, they have moved forward and purchased an unknown amount of bullet resistant booths to possibly be stationed at unannounced checkpoints throughout the country.

How does Level 3 Bullet Resistant Glass perform against, say, a .338 Lapua?
Don’t forget what happened at Ruby Ridge and Waco. I would not have thought that US Fed LEOs would be willing to do what they did, and with no remorse.
Most active duty wouldn’t either, but some would. How many would it take?
Really? Do you think human nature is any different in the USA than anywhere else in the world? History is full of examples of government police and military murdering millions of their own citizens. I can't think of a single instance where the police or military said "No, we're not going to round up Jews, middle class cambodians, etc." When David Dinkins outlawed semiautos in NYC there were no reports of any police refusing to arrest the "criminals" who kept their guns. In NO the police rounded up citizens' firearms. Not one report of any refusing to do so.
Don't count on any branch of the government at any level helping you out.
Good grief not this crap again. Last week it was 450 million rounds. Next week it will be a billion rounds. I hate to burst the bubble of the civil war II lobby here at FR but the ammo purchase is going to be used for required pistol certification. There is nothing nefarious about the ammo order and same goes for the tac gear.
Begs the question, what else has the DHS been purchasing to arm Obama’s CDC army?
Or, to back DHS up if need be.
If there are 5,000 DHS employees to certify, that means there are 90,000 rounds for each...
If there are 50,000 DHS employees to certify, that means
there are 9,000 rounds each...
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had this bookmarked for almost as long as I have been on this site. 14 years.
I think DHS and the government should have ordered a trillion rounds.
Just look how many shootouts DHS is involved in. Bet their running out of ammo as we type.
Oh, "Homeland Security" needs 450,000,000 rounds for target practice, as tens of millions enter the country illegally, during war time yet.
I hope they don't actually hit anyone while practicing at the range.
Perhaps they will be positioned at regular intervals along the Mexican border to show how serious The One is about illegal immigration./sarc.
My thoughts exactly ! 8*> Have a friend who made a trebuchat type catapult as a hobby project . He wight want to start working on what is called a “Ballista “ a sort of giant crossbow that are capable of launching bowling balls hundreds of feet . Might it also be used to launch 5 gallon bucket sized molotov’s ?
Wonder how that bullet proofing will hold up against a Ballista type catapult launched 5 gallon bucket of petroleum products?
I was going to say a beer truck.
A Billion rounds?
WTF do they need all that for?
;o)
