Am I alone in my belief that traffic stops should only follow an act that overtly affects the movement of the vehicle; that drivers who stay in their lanes and obey traffic rules should remain unmolested regardless of whatever else they may be doing?
On reading the article I see that this individual was driving with a child on her lap. As this would inhibit access to the vehicle’s controls by the driver, and permit access to the controls by another, this would IMO necessitate a stop.
The driver’s prior driving record, condition of makeup (fake eyelashes) or other clothing (underwear hat) would not, and the latter two items are not cause for any LEO interference whatsoever.
YMMV.
I believe she was stopped for texting while driving. That’s illegal up here, assume it’s the same in the USA.
Motherhood certainly has come a long way from June Cleaver.
Poor little kids - they don’t stand a chance, through no fault of their own.
