Rubio to Santorum, Gingrich, Paul: 'It's Time Now to Concede'
Tonwhall ^ | 4-5-12 | Kate Hicks

Marco Rubio, Mitt Romney's highest-profile endorsement, has a message for other GOP presidential (less)hopefuls: pack it in, boys. The primary's over.

Ouch.

As Tina Korbe reported over on Hot Air, the Florida Senator came out strongly for Romney's chances against Barack Obama, illustrating the kind of tenacity desired of a vice presidential nominee.

“I actually think we’re going to have a very good nominee. I think Mitt Romney’s going to be the next president of the United States. And by their own admission, the folks running against Mitt Romney have admitted that they cannot win the primary, that the only way they can win is a floor fight at the convention, which I think would set us back in terms of our goal of replacing Barack Obama.

“So I do believe it’s time now to concede that Mitt Romney has won the Republican nomination, that he’s going to be the Republican nominee, and that if we all get behind him he will be the next president of the United States.”

Well...he sounds vice presidential. Certainly more so than our current number two (sorry for the reminder. It's painful, I know). I could rally around a Romney nomination if he had a principled conservative like Rubio as his running mate. And could you *imagine* a Rubio-Biden debate?!

No, exactly wrong. Now is not the time to concede- it’s the time to fight for the constitution.

What has Romney wrought?

1. He and the GOP-e have taken grassroots favorites (e.g. Rubio, DeMent, Haley, Ryan) and brainwashed them into becoming Washington statist insiders. They were conservatives- now they're DC conservatives-- useless.

2. He and the GOP-e have taken over the Fox network– Coulter, Drudge, rush and other conservative commentators. Listen to them! They are like automatons, telling us that Romney is a conservative- when we ALL know, that’s an absurdity. No one knows what Romney is– HE doesn’t even know.

3. He and the GOP-e have sold out to Goldman Sachs and Wall St- insuring that the plutocrats will control the country.

No, it is not the time to concede- it’s the time for Newt, Rick and Paul to unite in opposition to the GOP-e– to make a final stand– to tear the GOP asunder if need be– to bolt the convention and rebuild a conservative party true to the constitution.

Shouldn’t Rubio get back to drafting legislation to force us to support illegal aliens.

Considering recent developments with Newt's campaign finances..and the fact that Paul is just an irritation, it's time for both of them to concede and endorse Nobody.

Then let's see if Romney can for the first time ever, get 51% of the votes.

I’m not up on this stuff, but I thought that Harper in Canada had a coalition government, and he’s well liked and respected from what I’ve heard.

I think it's a little early for this fuzzyfaced shavetail to be telling anyone what to do. Bright Boy here has obviously fallen prey to the fatal disease of believing his own press clippings.

I say “Nuts” to Rubio.

Just got back from seeing Newt and Callista at tonight’s Delaware 9-12 Patriots rally in Millsboro, DE.

Both were terrific.

What a pleasure it was to hear this man speak for over one half hour with no “uhh’s” or “ahh’s”. No notes. Friendly, engaging, humorous, feisty, thought-provoking.

Just one major idea after another—ideas that made you think what could be done. I am still in awe of the sheer mental power of the man.

Both Mrs. exit82 and I got to shake his hand and Mrs.got a picture with Newt and Callista.

Vin, I thought of you when I spoke to Newt. I told him that we were huge supporters and then I said “I’m in until you’re out!” and he got a kick out of that!

Romney and Santorum cannot hold a candle to this man. There were about 350 people there. Lots of Secret Service and news crews too.

There are so mnay topics that he touched upon that it is hard to remmber them all. He said he wanted to go to Tampa and he had specific party planks he wanted to fight to have included.

When he held forth on energy, everyone agreed with him. When he said “No longer will an American President bow down to the King of Saudi Arabia” it brought down the house and yielded a standing ovation.

For a moment, one could visualize what a real leader in the White House could accomplish.

My multiple donations to his campaign were well worth it. Time to make another.

a principled conservative like Rubio

If Rubio were a Principled conservative he would publicly state that he, like the Usurper Obama, is not a Natural Born Citizen, and can not be considered for the President or VP position.

I am getting fed up with all the Romney people saying it is time to wrap it up. They fear Santorum will win Pa. and will be going all the way to the convention.

This is really not a bad idea. When the nomination is won, if it is won by Romney then we need everybody to get aboard the train or their career will be over.

Right now things are not looking good for Santorum in his home state, polls there show Romney ahead. It would not be good for Rick to lose his home state. He can’t win the nomination, maybe it’s best to get out and see if he can have a part in the administration of Romney to help keep him honest.

if the Republicans could show a united front maybe, just maybe we could take the Senate.

The fact that so many people who despite the anger here that are conservatives have come out for Romney means it is time. Those people are not dropping their conservative ideals, they simply see the writing on the wall.

Ann Coulter is nobody’s fool. As far as I’m concerned she is the most intelligent commentator/writer around. She always hits the nails on the head. When Paul, Gingerich and Santorum get all kissy and huggy about Romney are we going to call them traitors too. At some point you have to realize that the best thing to do is not always the best thing that could have happened. As far as I’m cocerned even a few small steps in the right direction would be better than continuing in the wrong direction.

Paul should definitely be our next Fed Chairman. Maybe Newt could be the ambassador to the Vatican. Surely there is some logical position for Santorum, hopefully a place where he could learn to control his mouth. Maybe a good place would be the czar of overturning Roe. I would love to see Michelle Bachman as head of Health and Human Services, I would love to be a fly on the wall wherever Obama & Pelosi are when that gets announced. Would Suicide be a possibility? Oh well I can dream.

So very happy to hear that you and Mrs. Exit got to meet and speak to the Speaker— Bet it was a thrill.

No problem with you using my mantra— unless of course, there’s money in it-— then, we have to talk. -:)

It can't be repeated enough, but Romney does not have the Republican party rank and file voters behind him.

It just ain't happening, and he's had 5 years to do that ~ just totally blown away if you ask me.

We had our choice stolen from us by the Mitbots in Virginia ~ including our formerly Conservative Governor and Lt. Governor. They were revealed to be treacherous and not at all interested in letting the people speak.

Sure don't want to lose the popular voice in the rest of the primaries.
