Mary J. Blige's Burger King ad: 'Racist' or just 'hilarious'?

What's in the ad?
The clip features Blige standing on a table in a Burger King restaurant surrounded by flashing disco lights singing about its new chicken wraps, which are part of a healthier new menu the chain is rolling out. Adapting her popular song "Don't Mind" to new lyrics, she belts out the wrap's ingredients: "Crispy chicken, fresh lettuce, three cheeses, ranch dressing wrapped in a tasty, flour tortilla."
How is that racist?
The product at the center of the clip fried chicken "comes peppered and seasoned with all sorts of racist connotations," says Kenneth Partridge at TheBoomBox. And even if the connection was unintentional, the sight of a "black woman espousing the virtues of fried chicken is never a pleasant thing to behold," says Rich Juzwiak at Gawker.

fourth of July picnic?
Mud butt.
PS: be sure to read the comments!
To quote Michael Palin in “Holy Grail”, “I’m being oppressed!”. But wait, how much did Ms. Bilge, or is it Blige, “earn” from the oppressors for subjugating her race to the insensitivity of them enticing people of all races to consume their “tasty” morsels of deep fried reconstituted chicken parts? (And why isn’t she giving her fair share?)
That be double racist, gringo!
I’m just a white Southerner, but every food they say is black—except for chitlins—I like.
In fact, fried chicken, greens, peas, banana pudding with nilla wafers, watermelon, corn bread, bisquits with pot licker, chicken fried steak, sweet taters, pulled pork, ribs, grits, etc, etc are my very favorite foods and I am not going to give them up to the black race only!
We must share!
Racist?
I don’t get it.
Looks more like a bad SNL skit and won’t be surprised to see it on SNL.
Yawn.
Hmmm. I’ll give them a pass on this one but I draw the line if they wrap a watermelon.
Yeah, I didn’t understand that statement.
LOL! Wow. How heads must have exploded over that one...
How racist is boombox? Does it not bring up the images from the late 70's of a skinny black man with a giant boombox on his shoulder? so i would ask Kenneth if he is going to change his site name to something less racist than boombox.
We have traveled through the South and we love your food. I even liked the boiled peanuts. Didn’t care for ice tea.
I have never heard of “bisquits with pot licker”, but I just read about it and will be asking my bride to make it.
I still think this is the best burger ad ever:

I’m sure it would be considered racist somehow.
I forgot.... As for chitlins, this guy will never try that dish.... I do not knowingly eat guts.
Don’t these dummies know the rules? Black Negroes can’t be racists against anyone. White Negroes like obama can’t, either. But white Hispanics (like Zim) are racists against black and white Negroes, but not against white, or brown Hispanics. But they are racists against black Hispanics. Brown Hispanics are racists against black Negroes, white Negroes, black Hispanics, but not white anything. Now, white Caucasians are racists against anyone but other white Caucasians. I hope I didn’t skip anyone.
Got it? (Simple rule: Black anything = good. White anything = bad. Hispanic anything = it depends. See rules above.)
The photo of Al Sharpton staring in amazement at Obama’s fried chicken etiquette is priceless. Maybe it’s faint praise, but Reverend Al seems to have a lot more class than the Bamster.
You weren't served ice tea in the south.
You might have tried tea or sweet tea both are served over ice, but there ain't no "ice tea" down here.
She must have a great sense of humor and be humble too.
