I’ve never understood why the American Jewish population would vote Democrat!
The RATS have screwed them over so many times, and now Zer0 is in an open fight with Isreal about the control of the mid-east.
If any population knows about excessive government power, certainly it is the European Jews, with tatoos on their arms, overjoyed to escape with their lives - pining for their murdered loved ones.
They vote for the socialist Rats, they drive Mercedes Benz, so who can figure them out!

I’m not Jewish, but I can tell you....
For a majority of American Jews, liberalism is far more important than Judaism.
Their love of liberalism is greater than their love for the State of Israel. It’s sad and unfortunate.
Fortunately, not all American Jews feel this way.
Historically they go for the Democrat, the Progressive, the Socialist. At times they voted in a 90% block (FDR, LBJ).
Reagan was able to make huge gains over Ford. He got nearly 40% against Carter, that hadn't happened since Ike and no GOP candidate got over 40% of the Jewish vote since 1920. Reagan's gains evaporated by the time Bush ran against Clinton.
1920 was also the only time a Republican won a plurality of the Jewish vote. That was because of a three way race with a Democrat and a Socialist splitting the vote.
American Jewish voters have been hard-core leftists for decades, so none of this is a surprise. I’ve speculated that so much of this can be attributed to two major factors: (1) a general distrust of “traditional American values” because of anti-Semitic prejudice in many American institutions over the years; and (2) the cultural influence that can be traced to immigration of large numbers of Jews from Eastern Europe in the early decades of 20th century. For many of those immigrants a totalitarian nanny-state was a way of life, and they brought their Marxist attitudes with them here to the U.S.
The answer is simple. Jews who vote Democrat are Jewish by birth only. Their religion is liberalism. Any time their loyalties (if any) to Judaism are in conflict with their liberalism, liberalism wins.
I believe that non-religious Jews are very liberal.
I also think that the Republican party, being home of the evangelical Christians, has a lot to do with it. They may not feel comfortable aligning themselves with Christians.
I'll make it easy: although they are ethnically Jewish, for a large percentage of Jews (especially among Reform Jews) their real religion is Socialism. They would rather see Israel massacred than abandon Socialism.
