LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Los Angeles police say burglars who broke into a Hancock Park home stole a safe believed to contain $10 million in cash, jewelry and other items.
A Police Department statement Monday says investigators believe crooks jumped a security gate and smashed a glass side door to enter the home in the wealthy neighborhood on March 16.

I learned on “Storage Wars” that any safe, no matter how big. can be broken into in a matter of minutes.
Now, distribute it to us, the 99%, pronto!
Inside job.
You might be right but I once accompanied the Son of the founder of a very large department store. We were going to retrieve some records.
When we got there, I was shocked. The safe was about 8’X12’ and was on railroad tracks. It was huge! I have no idea how they got that thing inside the store but they may have very well ran it into the store on those tracks tho there were none on the outside.
Without a doubt.
Apparently, the thieves took out an unbolted safe. You need to have a safe with a big bolt and bolted into the concrete foundation. The bolted safe must be flush with the ground so that someone cannot get a crowbar or other device to lever out the safe. The only quick way to detach a properly bolted safe is an explosive charge.
The Number One way to secure a safe so no one can ever break into it is make sure no one knows you have a safe. Further, for someone to find one in your house you place it in a manner that would take them an hour or more to search for it.
I HATE it when that happens.
Large caliber round or explosive?
You use a decoy safe - one that can be more easily found - and removed.
The real safe should be hidden in a concrete floor.
Thanks for the tip. My partners and I will use it next time.
My next door neighbors house was burglarized last week and the police saw the thieves escape through our back yard. They didn't get much other than our feeling of security. The neighbors have 2 English Mastiffs in the house but the “big girls” are youngsters and did not protect the home.
In the movies they are always behind a portrait on the wall.

Amazingly, just a hammer and crowbar seem to work even on the largest ones (that I have seen).
I could be wrong - wouldn’t be the first time and probably not the last but some POLITICIANS from L.A., of a color we’re not allowed to talk about live there.....
Sounds like an inside job. Somone knew the contents of the safe
