The extent of sea ice is greater than the 30 year average. The link attached shows the global sea ice extent from 1979 unitl now. The source is from Cryophere Today from the University of Illinois. We are constantly hearing how the ice caps are melting, but low and behold, we have more ice than the 30 year average!

WE’RE ALL GOING TO FREEZE TO DEATH!

I love the snow. Don’t like ice.

I was hoping for some dramatic graph that I could throw in a global warmist's face, but this isn't it. A tiny pip above average right now could be dismissed as an anomaly.

You know, someone could make a movie called "An Inconvenient Truth" out of this.

A tiny pip above average right now could be dismissed as an anomaly.

A large pip would require that the Earth changed on it's axis, or that the Sun had a major change to it's output.

Actually, if you ignore the expected seasonal fluctuations, it would appear that the line would be trending towards being very flat. That being the case it goes counter to what the Global warming alarmists would be predicting, and is absolutely in line with the thought that MCGW is pure BS.

As if people in the Arctic and Antarctic are going to wet their pants over some missing ice. Give me a break.

It gives the Polar Bears and Penguins intense joy to have some missing ice. It’s a ‘win’ for all inhabitants.

It may be a tiny bip, but the ice extent anomaly was - 2 million square feet in mid 2011 and is now + 183,000 square feet. Its a rapid intensification of arctic and antarctic ice. It will be interesting to see what the anomaly will be in the next 6 months. I predict it will hover around normal for a long time. In any event, sea ice has been relatively constant since we started measuring it. This is the real story!
