Who would have thought it? Given the flack the Chevy Volt has received at Republican hands over the last few months, former Republican president George H. W. Bush dealt the Volt attackers a serious blow, deciding to purchase one of GMs extended range electric cars.
The Volt, which has become a symbol of all thats wrong with the Obama administration according to a number of conservatives, might finally be getting a break. In addition to Bush Sr.s purchase of a Volt (for his son Neil), theres growing sentiment among the right that the car might not be that bad after all.

Read his lips: no new gasoline.
I'm asking because I can't think of anyone.
How many RINOcerouses can fit in one of those?
Barbara wanted a car he could get out of the driveway....
could = couldn’t
Where is the check from Bush giving my money back for supporting his purchase? Volt are for Dolts.
The Volt has a legitimate use as a toy for the wealthy, the same role electric cars have filled for 100 or more years.
A birthday present.... I don’t know where Neil lives but if it’s in Houston he’ll have a hard time keeping up with the other vehicles in a battery powered Volt.
GHWB is, and always has been a Globalist.
So, Neil needs a car from Daddy? I suppose Neill is still busy trying to add up to zero.
Big deal. The Chevy Volt is a $40k car that underperforms every compact car on the market and runs on coal. Just because some wealthy globalist douchebag can buy one to make a point and never drive it does not prove how wonderful the car is. Most of us can’t afford to make a $40k “statement”.
And if I did make a $40k “statement”, it would be a new Mustang GT 5.0 and my statement would be “Get out of my way, pathetic little electric car!”
George Senior served his country honorably, contributed to the society he understood, the best way he knew how, was a very hard worker and has established a legacy that will endure for centuries.
Was he perfect? No, he did some things that were moderate. He also lost to Clinton because he was not an aggressive politician. But he certainly does not deserve your vile personal attack.
If anything, I would say you are jealous, or you are hopelessly ignorant. The least you can do, is show some deserved respect for this great man, however, I think that there is no such ability anywhere within your hollow interior.
Snicker.
otoh, I do respect him for trying new stuff, like skydiving at his age, puking at the big Japanese dinner, stuff like that.
Thanks for saying that, PSYCHO-FREEP.
Bump. For the most part.
He can waste his money any way he chooses.
