What if Trayvon Martin had killed George Zimmerman?

“Obama Campaign: Republicans ‘Politicizing’ Trayvon Martin's Death,” RealClearPolitics reported yesterday, citing an appearance on MSNBC by Stephanie Cutter, Obama's Deputy Campaign Manager.

She was referencing the reaction to the president saying if he had a son he would look like Trayvon.

"His Republican opponents have jumped all over him because they do want to play politics with this issue. The President spoke from his heart on this, it was trying to emphasize with some parents who had just lost a child. By any measure, this was a tragedy and we need to let the investigation take its course," Cutter said.

Amen to the latter part—the investigation should be allowed to take its course. But as for “people hav[ing] to stop politicizing it,” Ms. Cutter exhibited bizarre, in-your-face hypocrisy, particularly considering some of the recent performances by Democrats Maxine Waters, Chuck Schumer, Hank Johnson, Bobby Rush…

The political left that includes the Sharpton/Jackson self-promotion street theater to the positively loony and dangerous haters represented by the New Black Panthers, has been doing nothing but making hay of this tragedy for political gain while pouring gasoline on the flames of racial mistrust,

I then asked a question that I believe merits a fair discussion:

Assuming he was not the aggressor, what if Martin had stood his ground and managed to kill Zimmerman? Would not those rallying behind his memory want to use the law to rally to his defense?

Ah, but there’s the rub, some may say. Reports say Martin punched first, and was on top of Zimmerman pummeling him.

We may never know, but in principle we need to be able to ask what if Trayvon Martin had killed George Zimmerman? Or what if their ethnicities had been reversed? What discussion would we…should we be having then?

You're correct, Zimmerman came up with his story and some bought it hook, line and sinker. If you had taken the time to follow any of the links I provided you would have discovered that not all witnesses agree with Zimmerman’s version of events. You might have learned something ...

I’m quite familiar with Florida rain. I’m also quite familiar with the facts in this case, and your tendency to avoid them. You still refuse to explain how Martin and Zimmerman came to be together after Martin had a running head start. Stomping your feet and insisting the facts don’t matter isn’t a very convincing argument. If you want to convince me that Zimmerman’s version of events is wrong, tell me something that sheds doubt on his story. Give me a theory on some other way it could have possibly happened. Don’t just give me some nonsense about Martin being more afraid of getting wet than he was of someone trying to kill him.

Martin hid somewhere, which accounts for Zimmerman telling the 911 personnel that he was no longer in sight, and then came back behind Zimmerman after he was returning to his car.

I think we should be very careful about posting these photoshopped pictures.

Everyone is annoyed because the press keeps posting innocent 13-year old pics of Trayvon and menacing pics of George, but we are not helping our cause of fairness by posting photoshopped stuff.

In fact, we look just as guilty. I would suggest the mods delete those pictures.

What are the ‘known cases’ of violence by Zimmerman?

That is why I posted it.

There was no 'body' under the white T or hoodie. Timeline shows he was ALREADY DEAD and police had arrived on scene when witness says:

"I don’t know. "I JUST LOOKED" out my window and the guy on top HAS a white t-shirt."

According to a witness, Martin's hoodie was dark gray.

And Zimmerman was wearing a light gray t-shirt/sweater under his jacket. Maybe that was the most visible item.

Okay, let's try this...

Look at the above map. The walkway is "T" shaped with the short top part of the "T" running between two streets: Twin Trees and Retreat View Circle. The back entrance to the complex is on Retreat View Circle. Zimmerman was on Twin Trees. He told the police dispatcher that he thought the suspicious person (Martin) was heading towards the back entrance.

It seems logical that Zimmerman would follow that top portion of the "T" over to Retreat View Circle ... but didn't see Martin running down the street towards the back entrance like it thought he would ... he thought he had lost him.

Meanwhile, Martin had actually turned onto the longer part of the "T" walkway, the one that ran through the backyards of the buildings. I believe the father's girlfriend lived in the last one on the right side. Maybe he had seen Zimmerman continue on to Retreat View Circle and felt safe enough to take temporary shelter from the pouring rain under one of the covered porches (apartment building entryways).

A frustrated/disappointed Zimmerman turns around and heads back to Twin Trees. Maybe he sees movement under one of the porches ... maybe on a whim he decides to check out the longer section of the walkway. Since the incident happened on that longer section, somehow or another he got there.

At least three witnesses: Mary Cutcher, Selma Mora Lamilla, and the guy on this audio claim that Martin was lying face-down on the ground and Zimmerman was on top of him.

That raises a question about the gunshot wound. Was Martin shot in the back?

A “former co-worker” says why George Zimmerman was fired as a private security guard, they just dug out. Wow, super reliable.

And the “tussling with a cop” has already been beaten to death. It was a plainclothes cop and Zman put his hand on the cop’s arm not knowing he was a cop.
