House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) is expected to endorse Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney before Wisconsin's GOP primary next Tuesday, according to media reports.
Ryan would be the latest in a string of high-profile endorsements for Romney this week, as party leaders have increasingly coalesced around the former Massachusetts governor's campaign. The Wisconsin lawmaker would join popular freshman Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and former president George H. W. Bush in signaling support for Romney this week.

“Again, good from what I had read—Tenth Amendment guy, “gets” federalism. But then in the debates, he came across as a dumb, slow-witted Texan, which didn’t go over too well.”
Yep. Unfortunate. He was coming back around but too late. He rushed into back surgery so he could take part in the primaries. Bad choice. He was in a lot of pain and taking pain killer during te campaign. He was slow. He was the best candidate in the race and Romney’s, Cain’s, and Bachmann’s prime target. Perry never even knew he had been insulted until he read it in the paper the next day because of the pain killer. Good man though.
I like the way you put things. My conclusions are much like yours.
What is the GOP-E...? Never heard of that expression.
Someone put a bug in Perry's ear, time for the cowboy to ride in and save the day. :-)
Grand Old Party - Establishment.
Where’s conservatism? I’m beyond tired of this pro-RINO funk!
Roberts is 57 Scalia is 76 Kennedy is 75 Thomas is 63 Ginsburg is 79 Breyer is 73 Alito is 61 Sotomayer is 57 Kagan is 51
Scalia and Kennedy are old. They seem in good health, but how long does that last? They could live for 20 more years or die tomorrow. I don't know. Breyer and Ginsburg are old, and Ginsburg's fighting pancreatic cancer. She's outlasted most with it so far, and I hope she has plenty of quality time, not just because Obama's in office. If Breyer and Ginsburg retire under Obama, then we're playing defense on the court for probably 25 years. If Kennedy or Scalia retire or die during Obama's reign of terror, we WILL be screwed. We may still be screwed with Romney if he's the nominee, but we will screwed by Obama.
Kagan and Sotomayer replaced Stevens and Souter, so all we lost was time. The left played defense well with those two, and Bush gained slightly when O'Connor and Rehnquist was replaced with Roberts and Alito.
No vote. Starve the B.
And the USA might become a third world place if the Marxist ZOMBIECRATS get their power back. I'm not going to let my NATION get run over by MARXISTS!!
Perry can’t because he’s too busy advocating for pink slime. And I’m not kidding.
Sounds like you agree with mixing religion and politicians. I don’t think religion should be determined by politicians.
What next, should the President decide who the next pope should be?
And, unfortunately, that is the unwitting end result of the ‘Praise Jeebus’ crowd. For they have no problem with religion in politics.
Which leads to politicians determining what is, and is not, appropriate for religion. Just look at King James... and Constantine.
I lived in a GOP District my entire life and worked for Congresswoman Biggert. Now I'm going to be stuck with Dan Lipinski, not as bad as my poor father, he has Bobby "Black Panther in a Hoodie" Rush, and my dad lives only five minutes East. This is what the democrat redistricting has done!!!
I could at least go to sleep at night knowing that my Congresswoman is amazing and even though she has some liberal views she has been amazing to my family especially after the death of my mother.
If I win the lottery tonight I'm buying a house in her district!!! Then start an actual Conservative Organization to fight the Crooked IL GOP!!!
With the assumption of a brokered convention, there’s still a ridiculous assumption that Gingrich will be the nominee! That’s also assuming Romney doesn’t place in states that ate left. He’ll win D.C., Maryland, Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Rhode Island, North Carolina, West Virginia and Oregon. It’s probably over by the time the California results come out. Especially since he’ll pull some delegates away during the races he won’t win. I hope I’m wrong, but I doubt it.
If you can hang on a little longer, Newt's a-comin'. Newt's a-comin'...
Bullcrap! You were sneering at Christian Conservatives and the Faithful, just like a lot of other hypocritical FReepers have been doing lately on the Santorum threads. It’s reprehensible and a disgrace and you ought to be ashamed of yourself.
Biggert is a pro-abortion liberal Republican. I don’t vote for representatives based on how “nice” they are to my family. That’s not what matters. Congratulations on having a Congressperson give you the time of day when your mother died; 99.9% of us, don’t get the smoozing you got, and don’t care for it. I don’t mean to be mean, but a smiling waving Congressperson is irrelevant. How does Biggert vote? She is the 2nd most liberal voting Republican House Member in Illinois; but she has a nice smile.
I’m quite fond of rhetorical comments, they’re the backbone of FR.
A president Romney will make W’s “compassionate conservatism” look like Reagan’s staunch conservatism.
It will be nothing but Dem-lite.
Romney just runs the economy off the cliff slower. He won’t “do” one truly constructive thing with Congress to help.
For goodness sakes, his economic “plan” (all 59 steps) looks like some group of frat guys got drunk and crammed for an Econ 101 paper.
It will be nothing but Dem-lite.
Is there anyway you can answer a question without jumping all over me? I support Newt with my heart and soul. but I have one little thread of wonder about romney - especially if we are asked to support him - could it be that his masquerade was in MA, governing like a liberal? and he really isn't that at all? and has been a closet conservative and will be; then there's that thing he told rush that he would govern so conservatively the GOP would toss him after 1 term. would he just out and out lie to rush that way? because I keep thinking - well, if I have to support him IF he gets the nomination, maybe that could be a hope I could hold onto. that sounds so screwed up, I know, but I keep looking for daylight...
If what you mean by ‘faithful’ is ‘I want to dictate to everyone exactly how they should live their lives (as I interpret it via my faith)... so I will choose a politician that promises just that’; then yes, I was.
As for your response, methinks you doth protest too much. (or it more prosaic words, I think I hit a nerve with you)
