Rubio was the RINO backup candidate in Florida.
The GOP-E wanted the Senate seat but knew Charlie Crist had a secret life that the Democrats would have made public if he were the Republican candidate.
So they went to Rubio and pushed Charlie out.
I’m sorry but that is absolute 100% BS! The establishment wanted Crist. The tea party was in at it’s height, they are the ones that got Rubio elected, it sure was NOT the GOP establishment. The fought for Crist until the end when they knew he had little chance.
