I also wonder about the hate crimes law.
If a black man starts beating you up, and while your head is bouncing on the ground you swear at them and call them the n-word, and the guy ends up breaking his finger on your chin, can you be charged with a hate crime?
After having his head in the concreat would he have been in his right mind anyway?
