I wonder if I would be called a thug wearing my skateboard company hoodies at the skatepark, grocery store, the mall or walking through a parking lot to get into my BMW because I’m black and have a hoodie on?

No more than I should be called “Redneck” after arriving at your parking lot in my pickup because I’m (sunburned) white and wear my boots and hat after working on my ranch.

(I also have a BMW, but it’s only out of the shed after we get the snow melted and the lane graded out.....generally about the middle of May. By the way, mine’s a ‘06 M5, maybe we can share a beer and some tales about the cars sometime.)

Back in the day...I was a surfer, had bleached blond long hair...and was pretty laid back. Most of the teachers I had...treated me like I was stupid.

That really got highlighted when I went to H.S. in Kansas. I graduated H.S. 6 months early........
