New information is putting a new twist on the Trayvon Martin case.
It has come out that the unarmed teenager was suspended from school, and is accused of beating up the man who then shot him dead.
Martin's parents claim authorities are now trying to sully their son's reputation, after his tragic shooting.

I was about to ‘educate’ you about the tradeoff involved with trying to fire up one’s base, while firing up twice as many people in the opposition camp...but you covered it in the next sentence.
They can't have a civil trial unless they get a criminal trial. FL provides immunity to a person who justifiably uses deadly force.
If the authorities in Florida decide to charge Zimmerman on the evidence in hand, they are going to further undermine the public goodwill toward authority.

Totally. And as a honky, what I see is a bounty for this guy’s head, and NO ONE saying that the Panthers need to be arrested and disbanded, at least no one from government. It seems to me the bounty is criminal act and people should be rounded up.
...and if they are not rounded up and this continues, it will not make people (i.e., whites that might be willing to vote for him again) feel very positive about this country with another 4 years of Obama.

Not gonna happen here in Florida. Our self defense laws specifically prohibit any civil suits by the perps or their family against the person legally defending himself. This is why they're trying to get criminal charges against Zimmerman. It is also why the left wants to scrap our Stand Your Ground law.

Why not. The judgement against Goetz in civil court was in the hundreds of millions. The family hit the jackpot and any money Goetz earns goes to the family.
Just one last thing: I was one of the first on this site to predict how this would turn out - based on my own experiences with hoodies, black and latino teenagers and having to put up with Sharpton for 20 years before he became nationally infamous. I was flamed in the beginning. And, of course, the story broke my way. So I won’t be surprised to find out Dad and Mom are not so hot either. Mom has already turned out to be a bit of a gold digger.

I, too, have noticed that the brat’s defenders have all sought the high ground, lol. As John Gambling said this morning, I always knew there was more to this story than was being reported.
