I would never wear a hoodie, although not so much because of the hoodlum angle, but rather to avoid looking like Mother Theresa.

The only person I’ve ever seen that looked good in a hoodie was Kim Basinger in L.A Confidential. Of course she also married Alec Baldwin, so that pretty much proves that hoodies make you stupid.

Here in the NW many, many people wear hooded sweatshirts and coats of all kinds because of the weather and they don’t have the hoodlum image but there are some areas in the bigger cities I wouldn’t wear one.

Seriously though, you have probably never lived in the northern latitudes since when the temps hit about 10 degrees and the wind chill is running in the -30 range you would wear a hoodie, I guarantee it.
