Jackson or Sharpton should don a hoodie!

I would never wear a hoodie, although not so much because of the hoodlum angle, but rather to avoid looking like Mother Theresa.

The only person I’ve ever seen that looked good in a hoodie was Kim Basinger in L.A Confidential. Of course she also married Alec Baldwin, so that pretty much proves that hoodies make you stupid.

The important point I see in Sowell's column is his raising objection to the prospect of a public lynching.

This whole thing has brought to my mind images of the old west and a crowd with a rope looking for the nearest tree. Sowell stands as the proverbial sheriff in that scene, guarding the front door of the jail, a shot gun cradled in his arms (in Sowell's case a keyboard) and making a stand for law and order.

I'm not sure I agree with his point that people should not wear what is in fashion. At some point in time the sheer volume of the fashion takes the edge off any conotation the style may have.

There are certain areas in my city were I just won’t wear red. Even tho I am in my 50s I don’t want to give anyone a reason to think I am a ‘crip’ or something.

I’ve worn Carhardt dungarees to work for quite a few years now and some time ago, my high school aged niece told me they weren’t allowed to wear them to school.

Apparently, gang bangers started dressing like me.

I’m still not sure, however, if the school doesn’t want their students to look like gang bangers or people who have jobs (or both, maybe).

Ok, wear a stocking cap instead. Oh wait. Hoodlums wear stocking hats. Good thing they don’t wear pants. Oh wait......

Thomas Sowell is right, as usual. It’s a shame the far left is racist and dismisses any conservative comment from a black without listening.

The only time I have ever pointed a loaded gun at a human being, I had no idea whether he was armed or not. All I knew was that I could hear his footsteps sneaking up behind me at night.

Sowell carries? Wup Wup.
I did not know that.

If the facts show that a teenager who was no threat to anyone was shot and killed, it will be time to call for the death penalty.

Even if the shooting turns out to be as unjustified as Sharpton claims, it would not be a capital murder case. Life in prison max.

I had a fresh air Black kid from Harlem, New York stay with me in the summers for years. I always bought him and his brother back to school clothing and supplies and I refused to buy them a ghetto hood get up. I bought them baggie sports jersies of their favorite sportsmen and any shoes they wanted but I refused to buy the ghetto thug pants and nasty message shirts.

The American entertainment industry and leftist race industry is a curse on Black children. I despise it.

Well written. Obama had an opportunity to lead, to reinforce America’s values and be a uniter around them. He failed that test.

“We do not need Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton or the President of the United States spouting off before the trial has even begun. “

Agreed, but he should have included another big mouth that’s trying to take political advantage from this tragedy, Rick Saintorum.

What Geraldo and Thomas are saying is that your choice of attire can lead people to have a wrong/bad impression of you. Although many will claim this is “un-fair,” contrary to what the liberals want you to believe, LIFE IS NOT FAIR - and no amount of social justice is going to correct this FACT!

MANY of the 7-11’s and local corner marts in Irving and Arlington (both cities between Dallas and Fort Worth) have signs that specifically state that you CANNOT wear your hood inside the store. Why? Because people steal things and use the hoodie to hide their faces from the cameras. So, while it is unfair to those who just wish to wear their hoodie, it is equally unfair (if not MORE so) to the the store owner who cannot stop repeat theft and may ultimately looses his store do to unrecoverable loses.

I told my kids, it isn’t fair, but teachers will judge you by the company you keep, until you proof them otherwise. Sorry, but that is a FACT, and you are not going to change it! So, either don’t hang out with the losers and malcontents or be extremely exceptional in your class work. Luckily my kids did not really want to hang with that crowd AND they had exceptional class work. I told them you are not going to change human nature, so you must work with the system to delineate yourself!

Simple rule.

If you don’t want to be eaten, don’t look like food. Same goes for dressing like a slut and going drinking alone. Or wearing the wrong “color” in the wrong area.

Be aware. DON’T FEED THE ANIMALS!
