WASHINGTON, March 23, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Another Occupy movement has just rocked the United States of America - but with a very different message.
Tens of thousands of men and women gathered in 146 protests on Friday, joining a grassroots effort that organizers say grew far beyond expectations. The rallies were held to protest the Obama administration mandate forcing religious universities, charities, and other groups to pay for abortifacient drugs and other birth control for students and employees.
But while the purpose of the Occupy protests last Fall was sometimes criticized as being somewhat hazy, the message of this event was clear. According to the Friday rallies, the HHS mandate is not a birth control issue, but a religious freedom issue, and a challenge to fight that wont be ignored.
One fulcrum of the national protests was Washington, D.C., where about 1,500-2,000 gathered on a hot and sunny afternoon before the Health and Human Services building. Beneath the windows of HHS offices was heard the chanting of We will not comply, car horns honking in solidarity, and the rallying cries of several prominent speakers, including Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life, conservative activist Star Parker, and Lila Rose of Live Action.

Great.
How very odd I have only heard about this on Life Site News via FR.
Let the MSM keep not covering the huge silent majority that’s going to wipe out the dems and BO in November. They will be shocked, but we won’t.
Heard several times on the radio yesterday about 100-150 marching for Treyvon Martin in Chicago. No mention of the crowd for the March for Life in the Federal Plaza in downtown Chicago. They will hear from all of us in November.
I’m SURE that this will be thoroughly covered by the left-stream media... right? Crickets...
I know, really? I did see a local news camera man at our rally but still did not see it covered on that news channel. We had an excellent turnout in Seattle, by the way. I’m so glad I went! Always a great day to be an American when you can assemble freely and peacfully together to protest this horrendous mandate.
I don’t see any photos.
I don't think this is what the left and Obama were expecting for their 2012 campaign kick-off.
Fox Cable had a truck and reporter at the NYC Wall Street Rally and I watched Fox from 3pm to 5pm Friday and no report on the Rally.
hunh, funny, I don't see the "US out of my Uterous" crowd!
They have occupy, we have outcry!
It is good to know there are some Real Americans out there that still care for their liberty.
I’m watching it on Cspan right now. Maybe it will take a few months to get on the MSM.
Picture above
If they want some real credibility then they need to speak out against ObamaCare in its entirety. It infringes on everyone’s rights in some form another.
“If they want some real credibility then they need to speak out against ObamaCare in its entirety.”
Wrong. Not under these circumstances and not on this issue.
I had a very nasty fight tonight w my dad over this. It’s so fng sad how much socialism and communism has infected this country.
t was ugly too and my mother had to intervene. people now are openly advocating communism and don’t realize it!
