Rick Santorum is getting grief even from some of his supporters for saying wed be better off sticking with Barack Obama.
The only problem is
he didnt say that.
Heres what Santorum actually said:
You win by giving people a choice. You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone whos just going to be a little different than the person in there. If youre going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future, Santorum told a crowd at USAA.
Rush is right.
Wrong.
Palin predicts Santorums rise in Iowa (12-02-2011)
Hes been consistent in wanting to protect the most vulnerable and the sanctity of life, hes been consistent in saying we need to slash the federal income tax, she said, in an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, also listing Santorums stance on Iran. People will start paying attention to some of these other messages from some of these other messagers like Rick Santorum.
And many on FR believed it and sucked it up like chocolate milk.
Nope, he would nominate a flaming liberal and guarantee that he is a severe conservative.
Haha, yes, I added that with a grin. I know it would be difficult.
It would be like suggesting that Speaker Boehner will hold President Romney in check. LOL.
But there is hope that a feckless Romney could be challenged by a popular Tea Party insurgent like Sarah Palin.
Either way, the Tea Party is not going to be truly happy with any of the remaining presidential candidates.
Most Santorum supporters would go broke.
I like Santorum and I’m sure God does too......But he does not have the ruthless brilliance needed to go to battle with Obama. Newt is the only intellectual warrior we have. He’s like an old seasoned sea captain who knows the ways around the reefs. Wish more people would see it.
we might as well stay with what we have(Obama) instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future(mittens),
Its in black and white. Even Pro Santorum Delegate that he has already won is struggling with his comments.
Thank you for posting this.
It makes more sense when you ignore all the liberal interpretation and give the quote directly.
Well said.
I don’t care how bad people twist his words, or try to make him out to be an idiot...I still support Santorum.
Of ALL the candidates we have right now...he’s the one I’d trust the most to do what he says. And he’s right about this one too.
Already done more than once I might add...
You can start with Ricks support for Spector which he was the deciding vote in ObamaCare. Had Rick refrained from doing so and listened to those who advised him against doing so we wouldn’t have oBamacare today.
Santorum voted for Sotomyer as 2nd circuit judge in NY..she was a Clinton nominee...Santorum crossed over and voted with the Democrates.
Rick Santorum voted ‘against’ the Campaign Reform Act
While serving as a Senator in Washington D.C. he was among those listed on the 2006 Most Corrupt Politicians list..... The three most corrupt Senate members are the infamous Conrad Burns (R-MT), Bill Frist (R-TN), and Rick Santorum (R-PA)
Pay to play....During his last year in office, Santorum accepted more cash from Lobbyists than any other member of congress.
Santorum voted for Sarbanes-Oxley which imposed dramatic new job-killing accounting regulations on businesses
When Santorum went to the Senate and particularly when he was in the Senate Leadership, Santorum went completely off the rails legislating as a moderate.
In the 2006 race, Santorum campaigned as ‘a liberal’ for which he lost and deserved to lose his reelection bid for US Senate - 59% to 41% - an 18% massacre in a must-win state. Santorums loss was the largest defeat by a Republican United States senator seeking election or re-election in modern Pennsylvania history.
Santorum boasted of ‘teaming up with Joe Lieberman, Barbara Boxer and Hillary Clinton’ in his 2006 political ad for re-election to the U.S. Senate.
Santorum ‘opposed the Tea Party’ and its reforms in the Republican Party and conservative movement just a couple years ago saying,...... And I will vocally and publicly oppose it.
Santorum campaigned for radical pro-abortion candidates including former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman .
in 2008, Santorum also endorsed Mitt Romney, telling us that Mitt was the candidate for conservatives.
Santorum actively supports the Global Fund, which channels a large portion of its funds through Planned Parenthoods affiliates around the world and through a British group Marie Stopes International (the largest chain of abortion mills in the UK, with 66,000 abortions a year.)
Santorum voted to require that Federal bureaucrats get the same pay-raises as uniformed military.
Santorum voted to allow illegal immigrants to receive the earned income credit before becoming citizens.
Santorum voted against hiring an additional 1,000 border patrol agents, paid for by reductions in state grants.
Santorum voted for FIVE times to raise the debt ceiling.
Santorum voted twice for a Congressional pay-raises.
Santorum voted to raid Social Security instead of using surpluses to pay down the debt.
Santorum voted ‘against’ allowing health care consumers the option to purchase a plan outside the parity mandate.
Santorum voted ‘against’ food stamp reform. Santorum proudly claimed that he saved the Food Stamp Program.
Santorum voted ‘against’ a flat tax.
Santorum voted twice for internet taxes.
Santorum voted to allow Market Access Program funds to go to foreign companies.
Santorum voted ‘against’ transferring $20 million from Americorps to veterans.
Santorum voted twice in support of Fedex Unionization....and voted to exempt IRS union representative from criminal ethics laws.
Santorum voted to impose a uniform Federal mandate on states to force them to allow convicted rapists, arsonists, drug kingpins, and all other ex-convicts to vote in Federal elections.
And if you want further conformation of the above and addition to you may check this site as well as others:
http://libertycounselaction.org/content/Election%20Headquarters/32905/rick_santorum_s_voting_record
Santorum voted for mandatory Federal child care funding.
See post 92# as a matter ‘of record’ on Santorum. And that’s what you make your decision by....not by trust alone...but by a candidates record or explantion of that record he may dispute. Does it line up with conservative values and depict their success as conservatives....or does it show they pay to play and or vote to win their next political career move.
Romney's positions on any given subject shift like the sands in an etch-a-sketch. If you don't like his take on an issue that matters to you, all it takes is a little shake and he'll morph into whatever you desire.
Mitt Obamney's the same as the "hopey-dopey-changey" we got stuck with since 2008...once nominated they transform into something opposite of what you thought you were getting.
" WEST MONROE, La. (AP)Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum is taking back his comment that the country might as well re-elect President Barack Obama if Mitt Romney wins the GOP nomination. Santorum emphasized Friday that he will support whoever wins the Republican primary. "
Sigh. Another day another clarification. Santorum spends more time clarifying and backtracking than he spends talking about gas prices.
I see. You can’t answer the question. You just give me the cut and past list of out of context votes that the voters have seen through already.
You said that Rick spouted off at the mouth. Your exact words...
“.his lack of discerning ability comes into play and his mouth moves accordingly........something well known in Congress and here in PA. “
Without trying to be dishonest again, why don’t you defend your statement and give me these quotes that played into the hands of the Rats here in PA. I shouldn’t have to wait an hour or two for your response this time either because as you stated, these gaffs are basically engrained in every Pennsylvanians mind they are so “well known”.
Romney isn't one of us. He is the enemy within and even a graver threat to the conservative movement than Obama, who, at least, is our open enemy and can be used to build up Republican majorities in the House and Senate.
