President Barack Obama weighed in on the "tragedy" of Trayvon Martin's death last week, saying it is "absolutely imperative" that all levels of government investigate "every aspect" of how the unarmed boy was shot.
"I can only imagine what these parents are going through," Obama said, adding "When I think about this boy I think about my own kids."
"I am glad that not only is the Justice Department is looking into this, but the Governor of the State of Florida has put together a task force [to investigate the case]," Obama said. Obama carefully avoided any discussion of George Zimmerman, the man who shot Martin, and has controversially avoided arrest under Florida's "Stand Your Ground" self-defense laws.
"My main message is to the parents: If I had a son he'd look like Trayvon. I think they are right to expect that all of us as Americans are going to take this with the seriousness it deserves."
The pictures are from several years ago. I’ve been seeing 160lbs as his weight in other stories.
The media is trying to play this for sympathy to mobilize blacks for Obamalini and to make whites feel guilty - a black child shot down in cold blood by a “white” man, which is why they are using the old photos. This is a very tired script and a complete inversion of the reality of racial crime in this country.
This is beginning, however, to look like the Duke non-rape case. Nevertheless, if Zimmerman did shoot Morgan for no reason he needs to be punished as prescribed by law.

Thanks for clarifying, and I do understand your point. I’m originally from a very rough neighborhood, and in general, only the hispanics (and generally the ones who were gang members) wore hoodies as a style of dress. (I’m from Las Vegas, where a jacket is really never needed for the non-existent cold weather, but a dress style choice, those hoodies were usually very thin, and generally white, black, or red, in color).
I currently live on the Utah, Idaho border, and people wear hoodies 8 months out of the year (girls even more often, if a summer night is cool). That’s why I was curious, because 15-20 years ago (and in my warm neighborhood of my youth), I would have understood hoodies being associated with thuggery. But fast forward 20 years, and I see hoodies everywhere, from the youngest of kids to little old ladies. I own probably a dozen, myself. Then again, I don’t live in the south, so that’s a factor. Thanks for explaining that to me. I had forgotten that in my native, warm climate, that hoodies were in fact, generally only worn by gang members, but that’s been a long time for me to think about.
(On a side note, if Zimmerman was a hispanic, that might even make him more prone to be suspicious, as I said, it is most definitely a trait of mexican gang members, though not exclusive to them today).
Agreed. We may not know what he really weighed until an ME report. Either way, no matter how this shakes out, the leftists will continue to try and dismantle our country. We MUST eliminate special laws for “hate crimes,” “special groups,” affirmative action, etc. Unless justice really is blind, there’s always going to be a systemic disparity, that will make (or magnify) a cultural one. The pendulum of legal abuse always swings both ways, unless you keep it from swinging altogether.
It is interesting to see how conservatives like Hannity have been unwilling to challenge the rush to lynch Zimmerman. Does anyone know if Zimmerman is Jewish?
I don't think Zimmerman should go to jail, because we will never know the facts, and we must err on the side of innocence. But I also think Zimmerman created the situation by using poor judgment and instigation. He caused the unnecessary death of a 17-year old.

It will NEVER go away. In L.A.: whites don’t hang with hispanics, hispanics don’t hang with anyone, Asians don;t hang with anyone. I know, I work and live here.
That’s how it’s been, regardless of those white liberals who push multiculturalism. They themselves do not have any non-white friends.
