The shooting death of a black 17-year-old Trayvon Martin by a white/Hispanic George Zimmerman in Sanford, Fla., has caused a national fury... I have to offer this assessment about Sanford, social activists and others jettisoned into this Florida fray: Will blacks in America ever show anger and disgust for our murders, the black-on-black killings that permeate most urban cities, our disdain for life, our acceptance for thugs, gang members, etc.?
Philadelphia has chalked up 80 murders in 2012, just about one a day, almost like downing a multivitamin tablet.
Don’t forget your murder. Now go out and make this a wonderful day in the City of Brotherly Love.

I’ve been around long enough to be see how the “media” brainwashes the general population who apparently can’t think for themselves.
The term “white Hispanic” is a new one to me. They need to blame whitey so they add that to his ethnicity.

Wow! A brave and honest man, that is rare to see in the media nowadays. He speaks and writes the sad truth— the media uses race to their advantage, as if they really care.
Hopefully some will stand with this man and do what is right...the truth is what is needed. Lives depend on this truth.

They are so desperately trying to fit this story into the narrative that America is racist, that this black kid was shot for no reason by a white racist, etc.
Good points in this article. Have the likes of Al Sharpton ever weighed in on how black youth gangs have laid waste to vast stretches of America’s major cities? Have they ever weighed in on the fact that the biggest threat to black men is not white racists, but other black men??? Have they ever weighed in on the staggering out of wedlock birth rate in the black community?
Have they weighed in on the bad educational outcomes for black youth, and if so, who do they blame?
It does amaze me sometimes, to see how a certain story becomes the latest cause celebre.
I think the hammer to nail applies with the above statement. The media (as stated) acts as if they care when they do not. Makes for more violence and gives them an out when the violence takes place. If the media had any sense many people would never be offered a microphone nor the film time, but it is important to the media to advance the mistrust and hate for in advancing the mistrust and hate; there will be copycats to follow claiming to promote nonviolence while the opposite will be the agenda. Have not commented on this case particularly because all the facts are not known. This should have been the way this was handled, yet regrettably due to media action, this situation may now be nearly out of control for Florida with an agenda in the coming election, by zer0, to take the anger and hate nationwide if elected and if not elected. One of dang moments for our nation (imho).
Just saw Bo has now called for a review of all the laws that allowed the shooting. That would be castle doctrine and stand your ground laws all over the country.

I’ve seen his picture plastered all over the news and the net. Looks Hispanic to me, despite the last name.
Am having a difficult time wondering what is going on in my own country when the majority of the votes (or so we are told by the media) is to do harm to the Constitution and the voters (a majority so we are told) vote to go ahead with the harm and destruction. Many things taking place, in our nation, do not pass the smell test. Americans are not this stupid (imho). Been wrong before though.
“Hispanic” is not a race. There is no way to “look like a Hispanic,” because there are no distinguishing features other than an association with the Spanish language. My Spanish-speaking church congregation has members from more than a dozen countries. In appearance, they include Europeans - people who look like me; people of visible African descent; people with brown skin, dark hair and eyes, and Native American features; and a variety of mixes.
The chance that “George Zimmerman” was born in a Spanish-speaking country or speaks Spanish now is very slight. Why is the media mentioning “hispanic,” I wonder. Is it to make him less sympathetic to people who favor armed self-defense but oppose the presence of Spanish-speaking people, especially illegal aliens, in the US?
They aren’t trying to disarm anyone at this time.
They just want to make it illegal for you to defend yourself.
