Ever since his CPAC Keynote Address in 2010, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) has been one of the gold standards of modern American political conservatism. He has also been widely hailed as a political model for conservative African American politicians. And now, following recent revelations surrounding the highly suspicious shooting of Trayvon Martin, Rep. West has joined a growing bipartisan consensus calling for the case to be reopened, possibly even with Federal assistance. Wests statement, put out today by Talking Points Memo, resonates with controlled fury (emphasis added):
itself in Sanford, Florida involving the shooting of 17-year-old Treyvon Martin. First of all, if all that has been reported is accurate, the Sanford Police Chief should be relieved of his duties due to what appears to be a mishandling of this shooting in its early stages. The US Navy SEALS identified Osama Bin Laden within hours, while this young man laid on a morgue slab for three days. The shooter, Mr Zimmerman, should have been held in custody and certainly should not be walking free, still having a concealed weapons carry permit. From my reading, it seems this young man was pursued and there was no probable cause to engage him, certainly not pursue and shoot him
.against the direction of the 911 responder. Lets all be appalled at this instance not because of race, but because a young American man has lost his life, seemingly, for no reason. I have signed a letter supporting a DOJ investigation. I am not heading to Sanford to shout and scream, because we need the responsible entities and agencies to handle this situation from this point without media bias or undue political influences. This is an outrage.

Nore did I say that I did. Dang! you're an amazingly neurotic person. You just go off on wild emotional tangents at the drop of a hat.
I'm not. I am trying to show how ridiculous you are for jumping to the opposite conclusion. Here you are projecting again.
OK. Show me a link to evidence of that.
That isn't hyperbole. I stated reality. You, on the other hand, did infuse hyperbole by claiming I an attempting to make Zimmerman out to be some white supremist dressed in military clothing out hunting any Black man that happened along. My point was on target. Simply because a person is walking through a neighborhood is not justification to single them out as being suspicious. I've walked, or driven through unfamiliar neighborhoods where I have looked around at the houses and yards. Is there something inherently wrong with doing so? Quite the opposite, IMO. One should make themselves aware of their surroundings, especially when in unfamilar territory.
Persecute? You are accepting of possibly having someone out carrying a firearm, who then uses that firearm in a situation which didn't call for said use, and in which a death occurs? If this situation shouldn't be addressed, then, would you be okay not holding accountable the driver of a vehicle who strikes and kills a pedestrian they didn't see because they were texting? After all, they didn't intend to hit and kills that person. There are many situations where someone, by their actions, cause unintentional harm to another and are criminally held accountable. Does this incident not rise to the level where the public has a right to know if Zimmerman's actions were indeed necessary? Is there something wrong about asking that question?
I havent been paying attention to this but became interested when I saw the rally on live TV this evening. I followed the link you provided and clicked on George Zimmermans 911 call history. My first impression is that he is the neighborhood busy-body into everyones business and calls 911 at the drop of a hat. There was a call for a pothole, another for a car without headlights, one for a bicycle doing wheelies, a couple for open garage doors, theres another for trash on the roadway, one for a kid walking alone, another for kids years-old playing in the street, and the list of calls goes on and on and on. Im sure glad George doesnt live in my neighborhood.
Ill check the other links tomorrow.
In his call on 2/26 George states the subject he is following is wearing a dark gray hoodie. Then the female witness (call #4) states that the guy on top was wearing a white t-shirt. Humm
If that was directed at me than you're an idiot who hasn't read any of my posts.
Same difference. How often does a police chief step down temporarily, voluntarily? LOL! Possible, but not very likely.
Point is, the locals are not handling the investigation to the satisfaction of unbiased observers, such as Col. West. (not sure where he was born, I'll leave that up to you).
Okay, so it’s still an unknown.
If someone was watching me from their vehicle ... then still watching me exited the vehicle ... I'd sure get out of the area in a hurry too. Just sayin'.
No, the projection is yours. I’ve not jumped to any conclusion other than the fact that the initial law enforcement investigation was inadequate. I’ve not stated that Zimmerman is guilty of anything. Conversely, I’ve not stated that the 17 year old was either. I’ve only asked questions that I believe need to be answered. You’re exhibiting the ridiculesness you accuse me of. But, there again, your self-agrandizing superiority has reared it’s ugly head.

No, being fired and voluntarily stepping down is not “the same difference.” You’re a pathological liar, cynwoody. And a 0bot troll. Go back to DU or whatever rock you crawled out from under.
Don’t know, as nobody has stated how long the fight lasted.
But I do know that, if I were in Martin’s shoes, I’d want to make sure he couldn’t get up and follow me home.
I think so.
That is a major assumption in itself with no basis in fact or evidence.
Seriously, dude. You need to re-read your post, and try to keep up with yourself. You attempt to “show” that the guilty party was the 17 year old, and then deny that is what you were doing. Bipolar?
My posts were not directed at you I just hit reply on the last post that was up :p
“Obtuse: 1. not quick or alert in perception, feeling, or intellect; not sensitive or observant; dull . 2. not sharp, acute, or pointed; blunt in form. 3. (of a leaf, petal, etc.) rounded
’ I’ll leave you with the advice that you seek help.”
Sorry, but I think this was not quite in the FReeper spirit.
his=here typo....
“There has been no evidence presented which supports the contention that the 17 year was doing or had done or was going to do anything illegal. Are you suggesting that you are fine with these facts?”
Actually, a witness states he told police he saw Martin on top of Zimmerman, beating him while Zimmerman screamed for help. So. There’s that.
