Mali had a coup back in the early 1990s that really did establish a Democratic form of government.

The Islamic insurgancy in the North has been building for years and if the pro-Democracy forces in the South are the ones who led this coup, then it could be another chance for Democracy.

Maybe. Possibly. But “wait and see” is still the prudent thing to do.
