Gulf, friend Naps and Steelfish (both solid Rick supporters)have said on this thread- that Rick can’t get to 1,144, even if Newt withdraws. You disagree?

Alright, pardon my snappyness. I disagree with your math. As long as Newt stays in, there are a number of states, such as Texas, that will apportion their delegates to all those above a certain threshold because noone will get 50%. With Newt out, there are many states where Rick will make 50% and tip the threshold rule and garner all the delegates.

I don’t believe that Gingrich getting out would put Romney over any states threshold of getting all the delegates (although Illinois’ recent final would seem to argue against this logic.)
