Rush Limbaugh says Romney's victory speech last night was his best one yet, he just hopes he means what he said.
"Right on, right on. So maybe the conservative alternative to Romney is Romney. Let's hope so. It all boils down to whether he means this. It's that simple," Limbaugh said.

That is far better than deluding one's self into thinking Romney will do anything but set back both the conservative movement and Republican party for at least a decade if not longer.
I’ve seen him operate in MA.
He’s a banker at heart, so he has decent economic instincts.
Socially, he’s sympathetic to conservatives, but will fold immediately upon encountering resistance.
He will fold on economic issues too, but less quickly, since he has some competence in the area.
I have a friend who was appointed to a significant office in his administration. He’s libertarian/conservative/technocrat. Since he didn’t buy the appointment, I assume that these characteristics appealed to Mitt. My friend is a “good govt” conservative.
Will Mitt slash and burn? Only if you put a gun to his head. That will be our job. But I could see him rubber-stamping Paul Ryan’s proposals.
I think Romney will be the death of the GOP if he gets elected. Conservatives will take that as a last straw. The TEA Party will become a third party for a couple election cycles until they start filling out the House and Senate.
“GOP” is a damaged brand anyway. Might as well call it “Demo-Lighter”. Absolutely no hope of saving it.
And for those of you thinking Rush has suddenly jumped on the Romney bandwagon, you apparently don’t understand Rush.
IMHO.
Needs repeating....in bold!
The first MAJOR broken promise is repealing Obamacare. Romeny will vow to make alterations in coming years and it will be his biggest egg in the face moment and would occur within his first 100 days of office. That right there will show those that voted for Romeny all during the primary that they F’ed up just like they most likely did in 2008 voting for McCain. Even Republicans can be swayed with the stupidity and brain washing of the MSM.
Romney is hollow and dubious.
I don't why anyone would think conservatives are going to have as much pull on Romney than the polls, the media and Republican establishment. It takes a principled man to resist that sort of pressure.
The only talk show host who isn’t drinking the Kool-aid is Mark Levin. His shows are free to listen to..no ads.

The Great One will never bail on us Conservatives!
Rush the entertainer. Get real, El Rushbo. We’re in the fight of our lives here and you could be helping us...
Take a stand. Be bold. Enough with the no endorsement policy.
Rick Santorum is the only hope to defeat Rom. and you know it.
One poll indicated that half of the Tea Party supporters in Illinois voted for Romney.
If this is true, WTF..and get a grip.
We need to keep his comment in full context.
If you want to start a real movement then stop paying the cable and satelite companies. Turn off the enemy and hit them where it hurts, in the pocketbook. As long as Tv and big money can sway voters we will have a socialist government
47% of the Tea Party supported Romney in IL. Don’t put stock in a “secular” group...secularism is the root of our problem.
But the monkeys won't let it go..that way.
If you had, you wouldn't be saying what you are.
Just a heads up.........
FWIW-
BTTT
Did you read about romney’s campaign spokesman saying that in the general they will hit the reset button and romney can become his progressive self again?
LLS
Romney will do nothing to help the conservative cause. He's basically a status quo kinda guy. He won't shrink the government in any way. A slight expansion of federal government is even more likely.
Unfortunately, if he is the GOP nominee, he will be the only person on earth with a chance to prevent Obama from a second term.
By the time Obama finishes a second term, we will be a European style socialist state, on the verge of a bankruptcy that will drag the entire globe into the abyss. A few decades later, the government that rises from the ashes will most likely be some form of a global marxist dictatorship.
That said, you're right. Romney will be bad for conservatives in this country.
We're all going there eventually, my dad and Limbaugh are just the tip of the spear."
With all due respect, you can speak for yourself, your father, and maybe Rush. But not for me.
So Romney’s either the second coming of Ronald Reagan or a pandering liar? Aren’t commentators like Rush supposed to give their opinion on what the answer is to a vitally important question like this?
On another thread we were reading the same nasty comments about Glenn Beck because on his radio show he also said it was a great speach by Romney.
There is way too much irrational nonsense coming from some on our side. Just about every conservative we listen to on the radio and TV or read on their blogs will endorse the nominee eventually, even if it is Romney. Are we going to ban them one after the other as they do? God I hope not.
I dont give a GD who our candidate is in November, I will be voting for him, to send that disrespectful America hating A-hole back to Chicago.
That is the Prime Directive.
