Once again, the GOP along with the MSM have picked our candidate. With Fox News and the likes of Coulter, Drudge, we are looking at getting another liberal candidate for the GOP nomination.
This clip shows how the elite media frames the public conversation on who is electable.

Mitt will erase his conservative positions once hes the nominee. If that becomes the case conservatives will just stay home and Obama will win. (This will end the America you knew once upon a time.)

Pretty much every election both Republicans and Democrats run to the edges during the primary and return toward the middle to pick up General Election moderates. Is this really shocking to anyone? Magritte gives the history of campaigns from the beginning. IIRC, even Reagan ran to the right of everyone in 1980 and then just basically showed America what an incomptent boob Carter was (is), and won.
Of course Reagan had been campaigning as a right-center thinker for years...something Romney has only been doing for the past four or five.
But I think Magritte's point is still valid.

This feels like the Twilit Zone. After 3 yrs of that SOB in the WH, the GOP gives us Romney, Newt, Santorum, Bachman etc... as if this is the best we can get to run for President?????
I hate to believe that the GOP and Obama sat down and conjured up this nightmare scenario for ‘12. But this is what we are left with. After what Obama has done to this country, this is the only way that he could possibly get re elected is to have a clown as an opponent.
My head is going to explode.

I guess its true what they say, most people don’t want solutions. They just want someone to lie to them and tell them what they like to hear.

A few points seem to be worth making:
First, Eric Fehrnstrom is not Mitt Romney.
Second, the WaPo writer is looking for a way to damage Romney (compare the headline to the actual quote).
Third, of course Romney will emphasize his more conservative positions in the primary season and his more moderate positions during the general election. What is wrong with that? Almost everyone has opinions and positions that range across a substantial portion of the Conservative-to-Moderate-to-Liberal spectrum. I know that I am rather moderate (some might say liberal) in my attitude toward regulation of financial institutions, but I am very conservative generally with respect to the size and cost of government. If I were running for office, I certainly might emphasize the latter in a primary race and the former in a general election. Again, what’s wrong with that? Who wants a nominee that will not try to win, as long as he remains honest in trying to win?

I am shocked. Shocked and amazed that Mittsy Wittsy will drop his conservative values after the convention. About the same amount of shock I had when “moderate” candidate Obamalamadingdong started governing as the Marxist that he always was.
