This is a commanding win for Romney no matter how you look at it. It’s over. The fat lady is about to sing. Santorum could have stopped Romney either in MI (Romney’s home state where he won by a squeaker of 3%) or in OH (where Romney won by a hair of under 1%) if only Gingrich had done the honorable thing and withdrawn after Santorum’s stunning trifecta win. But cheered on by the “Go Newt” crowd, he chose to stubbornly stay and now here’s the result.

"he chose to stubbornly stay and now heres the result." Stop playing the blame game. You sound like Obama. Just as strong a case could be made against Santorum for not helping newt in florida, getting out, or at least repudiating romney.

You have stated so many times that if only Newt had told his supporters to vote for Rick in Ohio and Michigan Rick would be winning.
As a Newt supporter, I’m getting a little tired of Santorum supporters believing that I’m some “mind-numbed robot” who will vote the way someone tells me to. I’m pretty sure that Newt has far too much respect for his supporters to order us to vote for someone.

The way the primaries, caucus’ have been run is a disgrace. The National Republican Party should be hung out to dry! the state leaders have walked in lock step with the establishment in many cases.
As a Newt supporter..I KNOW he is the best man for the job. I do not want the folks in Texas to be disenfranchised and not have the opportunity to vote for him. Perry and Norris are working hard for him down there.
Newt should stay in and hopefully gain bartering power at the convention. IF Newt dropped out..Romney would still be ahead of Santorum. Also, the mega bucks ads being spent bashing Newt would have been directed at Santorum who got a free pass for quite some time.

Newt was running ads on radio against Santorum on radio here as late as this morning.

Well, Illinois proved once and for all that Newt is no longer relevant—if he can't even beat The Nut he is totally superfluous.
His dreams of a brokered convention are up in smoke and his final legacy will be that he played a key role in helping provide another RINO sacrifice to the Democrat monster.
Rick Santorum still has a chance but a hard road ahead, still, at least the Newt people who love to viciously smear him can no longer hurt him as they have become ineffective and easily dismissed minor irritants.
