There really is nothing to worry about here. This EO only applies within the executive branch. For example, it cannot apply to congress... I mean, come on, what’s 0bama gonna do, “deem” that it applies to congress? Next thing, he’ll tell them when to be in session or not.

Many on FR noted this possibility when Bush started it. We could trust Bush not to go nuts with it, but its very existence imperiled us if/when someone like Obama assumed control.
If they tried to take over everything they would not have the manpower and they would have a civil war on their hands. Maybe they could do it in Europe but not here.

Congress can revoke any executive order within a certain time frame, 60 to 90 days, I think.
Can we be organized and determined enough to make congress do this?
What do you suggest to get organized? What must be done to accomplish the rescinding of this order?

Is “global warming” considered a national emergency?
They can, under this order, restrict civilian travel by any mode, including (probably) foot travel. They can ration food. They can restrict water usage, even from private wells.

For Obama or any President to take over they need the backing of the military. The police could never enforce it. They lack the firepower the people can put up. Do you see our men and women in uniform today shooting Americans for Obama? I don’t. I see them defending the Constitution and the people from ALL ENEMIES including those from within..

The Exec.Order allows the nationalization of pretty much the entire USA even in peacetime if he desires.
Given that the President doesn’t have the constitutional authority to do this, can’t we empeach him on this basis alone?
Of course the Administration will need to use these powers when the EBT cards mysteriously stop working on Sept. 31st.

We’re in an uproar over the usage of the “non-emergency” wording in obama’s EO. Found this in clinton’s EO:
Sec. 102.
“Policy. The United States must have an industrial and technology
base capable of meeting national defense requirements, and capable of contributing
to the technological superiority of its defense equipment in PEACETIME.
and in times of national emergency. The domestic industrial and technological
base is the foundation for national defense preparedness. The authorities
provided in the Act shall be used to strengthen this base and to ensure
it is capable of responding to all threats to the national security of the
United States.”
