Why on earth does the Left find Christianity so offensive, and by extension, so offensive to the rest of America?

Though you said your question was rhetorical, I'll answer it anyway.

There are three great insitutions that society has established to care for people: The family, the church, and the state.

We've blurred the line a bit with a fourth - private charities - but they were originally an outgrowth of the church, just as 'poor houses' were an aspect of the state.

It's no coincidence that the statists are doing everything they can to destroy the family and the church. They're competitors for power.

They've pretty much destroyed the family - only a remnant remains, and that mostly in 'flyover' territory that they consider unimportant. So the next target to destroy is the church. Since the basic message of the church is grace, love, and compassion, they can't really fight it on the message (except by distorting the message, which they also do every chance they get). So they are trying to suppress the message.

It's all very logical - so much so that I don't think it's the result of any conspiracy. It's so obvious that I'm sure the hatred for the church arises independently in statists everywhere.

I always wonder why they are so offended and critical of christians, but seem to be latching on to muslims in droves. Some of the biggest libs I know defend muslims and are supportive of them. Muslims outwardly suppress women and gays, yet the liberals love them.

Must be that fascist mentalities are attracted to each other. And, lets face it, liberals are hypocrites at their core anyway.

Because of the (true) Christian’s God, the Holy One, the Most High One—they do not want to be accountable to Him.

Jesus prayed for His disciples in John 17 and said that the world hates them because they are not of the world, even as He is not of the world. He told them that the world had hated Him first.

Christianity holds a mirror to ones soul, the left does not like what it sees and wants to destroy the mirror, the right doesn’t like what it sees and asks for forgiveness and a desire to change.

My short answer to this is usually: Because they are working for the other side.

The longer I live I find that answer to be less of an exaggeration.
