Government to cut Texas women's health funds over abortion
Tue, Mar 13 2012
AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - The federal government will withdraw funding for a Texas program providing more than 100,000 poor women with birth control and other health services because Planned Parenthood clinics are not allowed to participate, a Health and Human Services spokeswoman said on Friday.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced the decision in Houston on Friday, prompting a furious response from Texas Governor Rick Perry, who called it an "egregious federal overreach."
At the heart of the dispute between the administration of President Barack Obama and Texas is the divisive issue of abortion.
The Texas legislature last year voted to cut off funding for Planned Parenthood because the network of women's health clinics performs abortions. The federal government says that this violates rules of Medicaid, the health program for the poor.

Yup, Obama declares war on poor women.
Why does Obama, and fellow prog dems, hate poor women?
What the news media would do with this were Obama a republican...
Not possible. I keep hearing in the MSM that the GOP is having a war on women. It is all the fault of the GOP and some problem with “personal responsibility”. ??
I bet the Obama admin will then turn around and blame this on the Republicans.

Dhimmitude -- What does it mean?
Obama used it in the health care bill.
Now isn't this interesting? It is used in the health care law.
Dhimmitude -- I had never heard the word until now. Type it into Google and start reading. Pretty interesting. It's on page 107 of the healthcare bill. I looked this up on Google and yep, it exists.. It is a REAL word.
Word of the Day: Dhimmitude!
Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-Muslim populations conquered through jihad. Specifically, it is the TAXING of non-Muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of converting conquered remnants to Islam.
ObamaCare allows the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia Muslim diktat in the United States . Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured. Islam considers insurance to be "gambling", "risk-taking", and "usury" and is thus banned. Muslims are specifically granted exemption based on this.
How convenient. So I, as a Christian, will have crippling IRS liens placed against all of my assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts receivables, and will face hard prison time because I refuse to buy insurance or pay the penalty tax. Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan will have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health needs paid for by the de facto government insurance. Non-Muslims will be paying a tax to subsidize Muslims. This is Dhimmitude.
Replace "obama" with "Bush" and that would be the trumpeted headline and top of the hour new for days.
Thanks Sub-Driver.
They probably already have
This is about women only as it concerns them as voters. This is a war on the unborn. When will we stop using the politically correct terms abortion and "women's rights" when we are talking about legal murder. Murder of the truly innocent. If we call it what it really is there will be more understanding and sympathy for our position.
FUBO!
Saw this one coming when Perry did the right thing and cut abortion.
Now we see that the Left really doesn’t care about health care. They truly are pro-abortion.
Planned Parenthood is a private entity, correct? If so, then why are the feds worried about how Texas deals with a private organization?
That has always been their major concern. No one is supposed to care that every right we have is under attack and in danger of being crushed; as long as women don't have to concern themselves with using birth control or otherwise being responsible, freedom is assured.
BD, that poster is chilling, especially with those corresponding quotes/pics...
Chilling is not the word for it.
No, matter how many times I see stuff like it makes me ill.
It sure does.
