WASHINGTON -- Newt Gingrich says Mitt Romney is the weakest GOP front-runner since 1920, but his sizeable campaign fund allows him to run well in races where his rivals don't have the resources to campaign.

The former House speaker told "Fox News Sunday" that Romney's money allows him to buy plenty of advertising time that puts him ahead of the pack at first, but his rivals catch up "pretty rapidly" as they campaign.

right on, NG.

But in the future you may want to emphasize that, beside the vast sums of $$$, there’s also the incredible backing by the likes of FOX, Drudge, and the GOPe.

That gives the listener a more well-rounded picture of what ‘We the People’ think of Mr. Romney.

He is a weak front runner.
Our problem is that the lesser candidates are even weaker in a general election

We can’t even get behind one as conservatives in the primary.
Ron Paul is the only one not willing to shift his position to garner popular support, but Paul is a nut on many fronts so I cant give him credence.
Mitt, Rick and Newt are willing to put that finger in the political wind at any time.
IMHO Newt is the most capable of the lot remaining, but he may be one of the weakest candidates in the general.

I don’t like it but there it is

I feel a bit despondent

Heck I almost voted for Kinky Freidman for Tx Gov, just because I knew he would be benign and wouldn't do any damage.

He would have made willy Nelson the energy Czar and they'd sit around the Gov mansion wearing cowboy hats, smoking doobies and cigars playing guitars, but never passing any legislation.

I ended up voting for Perry and he surprised me with principled reason.

I think the Mar 19 debate may be game changer.

We shall see.

The regional pollster from Mason-Dixon predicts wins for Newt where he was quoted in that leftist Brit rag the Guardian:
- - - - - - -

"Brad Coker, head of Mason-Dixon polling, anticipated victories for Gingrich.

"I think Gingrich goes into Alabama and Mississippi as favourite. I think Alabama will be like Georgia except Gingrich's percentage will be down a bit and Santorum's will be up a bit.

He predicted Gingrich would keep going if he wins the two states, hoping that if Romney falls short of the delegates he needs to win the nomination, Gingrich's tally of delegates could put him in a strong bargaining position."

-end snip-

I think the Mar 19 debate may be game changer.

Ten to 1 that Newt is on his game in that debate. :-)

I’M shocked Romney Santorum and Paul have the guts to even attend.
Newt decimates them in debates.

Newt expressed what I’ve said a few times in the interview that he is an outstanding face-to-face campaigner who can make beat these guys the old fashion way.

Mittens has spent so much that it appears that he is running out of gas as in cash. He’s burned through tens of millions of dollars. His big donors are tapped out. He will have to rely on his Super Pacs. Mittens can be taken down between here and the August convention.

Newt's the best of a bad lot and my first choice in a non-Palin, post-Cain campaign. You're darned tootin' that no conservative thinks that mittens is conservative. It's weird that the MSM is expending so much bandwidth and ink trying to convince rank and file Republicans that obamney is.

obammy is just a dumb, jugheaded marxist at heart who became an IMF tool with little effort on the latter's part. mittwit is a card carrying antichrist in the globalist agenda to overturn the Constitution.

I wish Newt and Rick could come to some sort of agreement to defeat the dog hater now and jughead in November.

c’mon guys a little more enthusiasm. newt was awesome on the sunday shows. rick and mitt are scared to death of him. they know they have to end this thing now because they can’t go toe to toe with newt for 3 more months.

newt is simply too smart and too good of a performer. much better personality and more likable.
