Santorum: "I'd Like Everybody To Get Out"
YAHOO NEWS ^ | 5 hrs ago.. | Ben Terris

Rick Santorum needs about 60 percent of the remaining delegates to claim the Republican nomination. It would be an easier task, he admits, if former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich would drop out, but Santorum would not call explicitly for him to do so.

“The Speaker can stay as long as he wants,” Santorum said on NBC’s Meet the Press this morning. Instead, a Super PAC supporting Santorum has run ads calling for Gingrich to drop out of the race. (snip for excerpt purp.)

“We’re in a great position now as we go forward,” he said.

Of course, there would be an easy way for Santorum to really make up ground: “I’d like everybody to get out,” he said.

Biased much?

I saw the same Meet the Press interview as you and I saw none of the negatives you describe and so the man loves and brags on his wife—is that bad?

The interview was excellent and Rick hit everything out of the park—but then I'm totally objective and logical.

“Little Ricky Santorum will be DESTROYED by the Mittens “Schorched-Earth TV Ad Campaign” that will take place in Pennslyvannia ...”

If Gingrich does withdraw, that will not be necessary.

=================================

Actually ... I disagree ...

Even if Newt Gingrich exited the GOP Primary "today" ...

Mittens would still NUKE Santorum to the STONE AGE in Pennslyvannia ...

"even if" Ricky had sold his career and soul to Romney earlier ...

WHY ?

Because Willard is a genuinely EVIL Mormon, wanna-be Celestial-God-Child ...

Hell, not even OBAMA is that Naracissitic ...

Willard would betray his own Mother (bless her) to put POTUS on his Joseph Smith Fan Club Member resume ...

And Santorum is "peanuts" (read completely expendable) to Mittens ...

Have any doubts about this theory ?

Go read about Hilter, Stalin ... in say, 1939 ...

EVIL men ... like Willard ... do EVIL things ...

Betrayal and lying is "child's play" to them ...

Willard is EVIL ...

>> Santorum is every bit, the moderate to RINO that Romney is.

Worse, in fact.

C. S. Lewis: “Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval
of their own conscience.”

Santorum is one of those: his government will rob you of your freedoms and your treasure because *he* *knows* how to make you better than you are!

Santorum would not win PA even if Romney were not on the ballot there.

Folks would write in a name.

Santorum actually scares me more than does Romney. Santorum is arrogant about it. He just “knows” better than the rest of us and will gladly legislate our “morality” for us. He has even gone out of his way to say so. (The Kennedy, testimonial)

He truly believes that the separation of Church and State are not “absolute”.

As a Southern man with Confederate ancestors I fully understand your devotion to the lost cause.

I expect Mississippi and Alabama will tell us more and perhaps totally change the debate. At any rate it is still anyone but Romney til the shoot-out in Tampa..

Honestly, it’s more than that.

Being pro-life is not enough. What is the criteria for these ‘conservatives’ is an agenda to use government to force their morality (and not just the pro-life issue) onto every man, woman, and child in our nation.

For government is just the application of force.

In other words, this section of ‘conservatives’ simply desires the ability to tell their neighbor what to do and how to do it. Which is modern liberalism.

Santorum is simply a younger, more handsome version of Mike Huckabee ...

Rick will look GREAT on television ... after the election ...

and Rick's Spouse (clearly the more attractive and intelligent of the two) ... after all, I am a guy ...

can save Ricky on a "weekly" basis for his TV gaffes ...

just like Rush Limbaugh valiently (tries) to save Little Ricky almost EVERY day ...

==============================

P.S. I need to make a statement to my fellow Free Repuplic colleagues ...

I really have been hard on Rick Santorum ... really hard ...

I genuinely think he's (basically) an honorable man ... probably a first-class husband, father and Roman Catholic ...

Genuinely, with "zero" sarcasm ...

But ... I (gently) warn all Conservatives ....

Whatever citical observations I've served-up about Rick santorum ...

will be "mother's milk" compared to what Obama, Axelrod, George Stephanopolus, et al ...

having waiting (locked-and-loaded) ....

should Rick Santorum win the GOP nomination ...

or for that matter ...

be someone's VP selection.

Both Newt and Romney KNOW THIS ...

and Ricky Santorum is "not" on either Candidate's "short-list" for VP choices ...

LOL! With a tagline like that, there is not much I can relate to you, in regards to a debate.

Just wanted to ping samtheman on your post.

It sums up the basic schism between Santorum supporter and, well, every other conservative.

>> He truly believes that the separation of Church and State are not “absolute”.

Well, let me confess a little secret.

I don’t believe in “separation of church and state” either, and I’d be ALL FOR legislating Christian morality!

IF IT WOULD WORK. It won’t. Never has, never will. God didn’t design His world that way.

The best we can do is to legislate *freedom* and *personal responsibility* to a nation still, for now, composed primarily of Judeo-Christians, and let God use His people and their freedoms to further His cause.

The founding fathers knew this, because they read their Bibles. It’s not like this principle is a secret or anything.

Of the declared candidates, only Newt even approaches this ideal. I’ll take the best I can get.

I know that will never happen but it must be obvious for all to see that what we call "the mainstream media", "the lamestream media" or whatever name they go by, they are nothing more than operatives of The DemocRAT Party.

I see them as the "Anti-American Fifth Column" group. Here's one of their members:

Mariner says: “This is a continuation of the norm for many (not all) Santorum supporters. If you attack Santorum or ANY of his positions, you, as a Freeper in good standing will be personally attacked by them. It’s been going on for more than a month now. I don’t know if it’s coordinated or if it’s just indicative of the type of support Santorum attracts.”

I find this type of comment, which is rather common among some Newt supporters, to be amazingly out of touch with reality. I think that the Newt supporters, not Rick’s folks, who are the ones who have been repeatedly over the line with grade school taunts and over the top claims about Santorum. For example, one poster on this thread says “Wittle Wicky Santorum is a sissified weasel putz”. Another refers to him as “ayatollah santorum”. Another says “Screw this wanna be boy king.” Still another refers to Rick as “Romney’s “butt-boy” I turn your question back to you: Is this indicative of the type of support Gingrich attracts?

And that’s without mentioning even one of Psycho-Freep’s hate-filled posts.

Newt worked with Santorum, So Newt really knows from experience that he is a poor VP choice.

Romney, not so much. Romney may pick Santo just to get the Evangelical vote. I believe if Romney would have won the nomination in 2008, he would have picked Santo then, or else Huckabee.

If you really look back on it, it was over the legislation of “Religious” morality, that drove the Pilgrims to come here. Which is exactly why the founders were so careful to separate Church and State.

In part to protect the Church from the State, to disallow the government from choosing what doctrine to make into law, but also to protect the Government from being molded into, legalistic Church doctrine as well.

Romney is in no way working with Santorum. Romney has promised the VP slot to Rand Paul in exchange for the support of Ron Paul in attacking the other conservative candidates. Notice, you haven’t heard anything from Ron Paul, or at least not for the past few months, attacking Romney.

Your outright personal attacks in the name of moral superiority is what is sickening on this forum. Included, is your lack of courtesy in trying to hide your attacks by not letting the one you are attacking personally know.

It’s a violation of the forum rules. But somehow, you seem to place yourself above all of that. Call yourself a “Christian” all you like. But no Christian I know uses this kind of back stabbing deceit.
